ALOK KUMAR AGRAWAL

18 comments:

  1. Alok - The only man with a better half in the whole batch leads a very lonely life with a small group of close and intelligent friends. Alok is extremely hardworking and his one of the genuine guys you will find in our batch. Apart from reading Phinance books and writing on his legendary blog, he also finds enough time to talk to his hubby and participate in each & every competition D2C puts on their site.

I came to know Alok from my hometown when we first met and I realized at the beginning that this guy is very talented and has a knack of generating creative ideas and form businesses out of it. He has been my B-plan partner and we have really made it huge working on it. Alok's patience and perseverance are his best qualities and his confident nature really makes him a hero in the classes for the CP he does.

Alok has been a very good friend of mine and I wish him huge success in his future endeavors and make him the most renowned Phin guru (more famous than Damo)...

  4. Alok aka FinWhiz is one of those person who very easily manages to do work for various management events sitting right under a professors’ nose in a class; without getting noticed. He has to his names many Papers and achievements and has got invite for being a guest lecturer too. He juggles studies, extra-currics and married life really well.
One of the Icon players of last Kopda Season this season he made good contribution to ‘The Royal Phantoms’ being unbeaten till the end.
Wish you and Sonia a great life ahead! ATB!

  6. Alok....The Finwinz.....Seriously my two years at IIM Shillong would have been impossible without you yaar...You were the mentor, the guide, the study mate, team mate at all the competitions. I have never met a person with so much commmitment to his wife. If I would want any encouragement or had any doubts, he was the person who always helped. I am so fortunate to have you as a friend.

You are a great inspiration to most of us due to your hardwork and commitment. The most awe-inspiring thing about you was that you had a wife and left a really nice job to do MBA. Even with so much pressure you had shown your capabilities from time to time may it be academics, b-school events, sports and the list goes on...

The other aspect was your awesome character in terms of friendship. It has been really nice to have a friend like you that made me feel at home at all times. Your sporty nature when you would get ready to go out any time was simply amazing. I think you have set an example by showing how a person from a town can be such an allrounder.

I wish you become a highly successful person leading a group of people. And I sincerely agree that I have met a really awesome person and if you need me at any point of time then you know, I AM JUST A CALL AWAY!!!!

Thanks for being such a great friend...

I am sure one day he will be doing wonders with his finance knowledge and the enthusiasm he carries to attain more of it!

    Stay invested brother! :)

  8. What to say about this guy..he is a mad and passionate person..har cheez me pagalpan laga deta hai..be it studies, events, writing blogs or whatever. He is kind of "Jack of all trades"..beautifully and comfortably taking up and completing tasks at hand..

Also known for his continuous talking. He would never listen to you once he starts and even after he stops :P. Dimaag ka circuit hi kharaab hai iska :D.

Jokes apart he is an intelligent and hard-working guy with a strong dedication and knowledge of Finance. A caring person for a friend and family and his wife. Don't worry for your future man. I am pretty sure you and Sonia bhabhi will have a very bright and enjoyable life ahead. Just keep up your spirits.

  10. FinWinz... one of the most dearest friends that I have made at IIM Shillong. He is a master of valuation and can value your organisation in no time :)
The increasing popularity of his "Valuation Blog' really compelled Damodaran to request him to stop writing more posts to regain his losing popularity. Our FinWinz was kind enough to oblige him by changing his working area to Ops.
GS was really lucky to have him on board. I remember the whopping 40 crore profits that he generated for airtel in just 4 pages strategy. So I really wonder what heights would he take GS to being with them full time.
The best part about him is his continous effort to strive for success. He never accepts failure and does all the hardwork to reach his milestone. One thing tht he has not been able to do till now is hitting a six by coming down the wicket on my bowling. Thoda aur practice kar shayad kabhi successful ho jaye :P
I know this guy will achieve great success in his life and be a star wherever he goes.
You have a very pure heart. Please be the same always.
    All the best :)

    1. 12 in the afternoon, semester's final exams are over and he would be in cab for airport at 12:10. Your commitment and dedication_/\_

I still remember that on your (both) birthdays' GPL u told me to hold you up and leave you as soon as 2-3 shots are fired :) Strategy nicely worked though :)

Has a very charming personality. Have nice life ahead bhaisahab!!!

  15. The finwhiz of the batch, Alok is a guy who is extremely down to earth and helpful inspite of all his Phinance knowledge. Not the one to say no to help someone, he is not scared for seeking advice or opinions from others either. The kind of guy who would give his best for the subjects he loves, he can manage a hundred things together(whether it maybe his blog, assignments, family or b-school competitions). His love story amazes me even now as only someone as daring as him can take such steps of eloping, quitting his job, letting his wife study and make her own career and stay away from his loved ones(recently married) for making a career from this b-school. Your dedication is admirable and i wish you achieve great heights in your life. Good luck!!!

  16. Alok.. A very talented person and a very sweet one… I share all my ‘first’ experiences with this guy… Be it my first ‘eating out’ at Bombay Bites or my ‘seat mate’ during the flight journey from Guwahati during that memorable ‘Jaundice’ break or be it the train journey together… and all of them are very sweet memories close to my heart ;)

I remember when my uncle asked me about Alok studying with me in IIM S, and was all in praise for him...Needless to say, you have earned it and truly deserve it.

Wishing you all the success and happiness in your way ahead!!

  17. Oh man, it took me near to the end of the first year to actually know my roomie closely :D! Till then I had never seen anybody work hard like Alok ever in my life. For the first part, I used to grumble to myself as to how can a human being exist working like this. But then, in the second part I understood better. Alok managed to speak for hours over phone with his wife but still managed to study well. Not in terms of marks but in terms of the understanding the subject of his passion - ‘finance’. And the little finance that I know is completely due to his prowess in that subject :) …

In the 3rd sem, both of us used to compete as to who bunked more classes and slept :P. Oh, if only we had been in the same section. We could have attended jus 10 classes each, proxying the rest for each other :D.

I am very lucky to hav known both u and Sonia. Ur story will surely serve as an inspiration for me ;)!!

    Your dear roomie,
    Sabareesh
