PARTHA MITRA

28 comments:

  1. My dear brother and one of my closest friends in IIM Shillong, Partha Mitra is a guy who knows how to build relations, and (unlike most of us) knows how to maintain them through the ups and downs of life. He is patient, understanding, helpful and is a perfectionist. Having worked with him during TBLA and later at Excelsior in IIM Bangalore, I know how irritating his finishing touches to a presentation can be. He has a standard green colour favourite template for presentation, and if you are working with him and have a dislike for that colour, God help you. But jokes apart, Partha’s dedication (only towards tasks he chooses to dedicate himself to :P) can be matched by very few in this college.

He will always cheer you when you are down, even if it is with his lame Parthopedia jokes, and no matter how hard he tries, he can’t ever keep a grudge against people. Simplicity is the way of his life, and his outgoing and friendly nature has won many hearts at IIM Shillong. Through the role of a Placecommer, I have seen that Partha can be hardworking and perseverant. On the flip side, he can be bitter about things and get pulled down by the drudgeries of life, and can be too diplomatic at times- but what I like most about him is that he is a genuine human being. If he considers you to be a friend, you are lucky because he will always go that extra mile to help a friend.

I hope you always remain this crazy, with all the sad jokes and thank you for all the innumerable times you have been there for me. Wish you all the best in life, and I am sure success will kiss your feet at every step ahead :)

  2. Partha Mitra was one of the first ones whom I made friend after coming to IIM Shillong. He is a bakkar loving person and has a golden heart. He believes in do no evil to anyone. One thing I must admit is that his statements are very difficult to understand (either with too many MBA jargon or a PJ). A true placecommer by heart. His knowledge about Healthcare sector is phenomenal and can give gyaan to anyone who has genuine interest in that.

  3. No doubt the guy who teased and tried to irritate me the most in these two years :P
Although Partha is one of the most experienced people of the batch, he just does not let one feel that way... His endless fetish for his 'special' jokes and his ability to explain the simplest of things in the most complicated and round-about manner are well known by all who have interacted with him. Despite all that, there is no denying that he is extremely patient and genuine at heart. I'm sure you'll do great in life Partha! Lots of luck :)

  4. Partha Mitra...aka Paratha...aka Parthopedia...and what not...I have shared the best of my college life with him. I still remember the day we were going to Elephanta Falls in first year when I first got to know that he was 4 years senior to me at VIT. We had talked so many times before but he never made me feel that he was so elder to me. Yes, this is what Partha is. One of the most clean hearts I have seen in my life. He is innocent, sometimes irritating but very very caring. We had our rough times but we always sailed through them because I know that he was a true person by heart.
He is one person who has always over estimated me in terms of my potential and qualities. He has always been my side to tell me that I could achieve things which I also myself never imagined. In some way, trust of people like him kept me motivated throughout the two years.
Another aspect of his which I discovered during the two days at his house in Kolkata was the child I saw in him come out and saw him in the best of spirits.

Partha...You have been like a brother to me always and I wish that innocent smile of yours always remains on your face throughout your life. All the best !!!

  5. I remember the first question I had asked Partha on meeting him was how did he manage to work in Cognizant for 4 long years.. I would have got the answer in the days to come.. Partha is one person who finds happiness in small small things..He has this unusual patience which keeps him going even when things get tough.. We all know that he is a master at cracking PJs and doing bakar, but it’s such things that makes the otherwise monotonous life memorable and cheerful and Partha clearly understands that.. His attitude towards life is simply commendable and just wish that he continues to be just the way he is right now..
And just a reminder for Partha, it started with Police Station, want it to end at Cloud 9 :)

  6. A guy known for his eternal love for talking incessantly on any matter (bakar max!), CV making skills and his fondness bordering on inappropriate love for Cognizant, this Bong from Rourkela is the eldest of the VITians of the batch. Blessed with skills to make the simplest of English sentences into Shakesphere lines, a recently shared joke was that he could make the VA paper for CAT. Apart from English skills, his IT knowledge and his passion for the field is something I always admire. He believes in a balanced scorecard even in life and always strikes a balance between his professional and personal lives. My memories about you take me to the aimless (truth be told) study sessions we had before exams where we three (Sreya included) have managed to create mountains out of economics papers! Another fond memory was your birthday night in the first year and Sushant’s insistence on a hug from the birthday boy .
The guy whom I have played most TT matches against ever, he is the most moody TT player I have seen, from being mercurial to the levels of being untouched in the entire set to being borderline reckless in the other. At the end, thank you for the wonderful memories from college and hope you achieve the heights of success which you truly deserve. Cheers!

  7. Partho, my first year roommate (B3)and myself are two extremely contrasting personalities in many ways, be in the approach to studies/work, attitude, entertainment or daily routine, but we come to a consensus when we share our good memories of staying together as roomies. I can never ever forget this humble and down-to-earth personality, as I learnt a lot of things from him.
The most striking feature which I noted about him is that he is gifted with amazing verbal ability, which catches everyone's attention. He can explain beautifully anything under the sun with his unique mix and plethora of words, using typical MBA/Management jargons. He is a perfect Bakkar king and a real consultant.
Though it might appear that he takes less interest in academics, he is always up-to-dated about everything and does his work with great perfection. I would never forget the night-out sessions by Partho and "Amma" (shreya)(sometimes Sunil too) during Term examinations in our room(I still remember Partho and Amma desperately studying for OM-I exam throughout the night :))
He mingles easily with others and values relationships and try to maintain a very cordial relationship with all.
Above all, Partha is one of the very few persons who displays positive vibes with a typical smile even in the midst of many worries, which is an inspiration to all. I hope he keeps this mentality throughout his life.
I wish my roomie all the best for a successful life ahead.

  8. Partha, _/\_. I was fortunate to have him as my groupie. He is a great friend, guide, philosopher, and person.
    Perseverance + Amicable + Respectable + Talented + Humble + Affectionate = PARTHA
Wish him all the very best for his future endeavours.

  9. Partha da, that's what I like to call him. he's always been like a senior, ready to guide and help. extremely cordial and fun loving, this guy can crack awesome jokes, and is very famous for his one liners. A dedicated placecommer, I realized it all the more during our recent trip to Kolkata. Partha da, I can't thank you enough for being soo supportive throughout the process. A gem of a guy, his participation and talks in class has always intrigued me. it's always fun to talk and interact with him. extremely talented, has all the qualities of a consultant. he enjoys life to the hilt, come what may!!
You are surely gonna make it big Partha da.
    Wish you all success!!
    Keep Rocking!!

  10. I came back from my first meeting with Partha with a feeling of awe. Partha was a perfectionist beyond imagination, according to me. He called me for correcting my CV at some odd hour in the night and made me correct it for more than 2 hours. That he was doing that almost a full day of the same work is even more amazing. I can never forget that.

And, I wish Partha keeps his sense of humour intact.
    All the best.

  11. Visiting member of group D, as we often call him :p is very hard intelligent guy. I am surprised how he can present the ppt's even with out having a glance. Fun loving and always energetic. Very humorous too.A great cognizant lover.

All the best partha. Keep in touch :)

  12. Dedication and perfection personified. Some people might feel that dedication and perfection might be two contradictory words to describe Partha, but those who know him very well will clearly understand what perfection and dedication I am talking about. From CV correction to placement brochure designing to even small trivial things, if the subject interests him he demands perfection from him as well as those working with him.

How can someone forget Parthopedia, the person gave us numerous, zillion occasions to laugh our guts out on his nonsensical bakar. He is crystal clear in his heart and with his innocent smile can win the hearts of million.

He is also a chick magnet: P. I am sure there won’t be any other guy who will be in touch with almost every girl from our senior batch, our batch and the junior batch as well. Even being such a flirt, his heart beats for only one girl: P

On a more personal note, he has been my partner when I wanted to take a walk around the campus and was always ready to hear to my weird stories and incidents. A lot of times he cheered me up when I was going through my toughest phases of life. There were days when I will just walk in his room, sit with him and have a complete 180 degrees change of my mood.

Thanks for being my mentor, brother and an awesome friend. It was my pleasure to know you and spend some amazing time with you.

Never let that smile fade away from your face. Ghee Ghee Ghee

  13. Partha was the 1st batch-mate from PGP10 to congratulate me on my induction into IIM Shillong fraternity. I could not attend the Senior-Junior Meet in Kolkata and mailed quite a few people to ask about the details mentioned in the meet. Partha was the only person to reply and that too a very warm reply-yes in the reply mail he mentioned about blankets, and stuffs to keep yourself warm in Shillong (I guess pArtha can tolerate this PJ as we have tolerated him on many occasions :D:D). He is a caring person and very polite whenever you approach or talk to him. Wish u a great success ahead Partha Da.Off-course needless to say Bong Connection will definitely keep us connected. Keep Smiling Always :)

  14. Partha- One blogpost seems too small to write about this guy. The first person I knew in IIM Shillong. Same city, Same study Group, Same friend circle, same city interns(Kolkata which dint have too many ppl). It was like decided we had to be friends for life.
He has this amazing charm about him which makes him one of the most popular people in the batch(After all a whole fb page dedicated to him). His PJ's are unbeatable. You ll know its a PJ but you cant stop laughing with the way he says it and then the way he laughs at his jokes(Ghee Ghee).
Totally connected(Literally with all the girls of the 3 batches :P).
Has this typical Bong way of saying "THAANDA". Damn cuddly (Sorry for have scandalizing ur ex-roomate :P)
One person who is actually just a call away for wherever you want to go. And NEVER reachable when it involves group tasks and assignments.
A dedicated placecommer. Knows exactly how to handle situations. A kid at heart but way too matured at the same time.
Cannot finish his sentences without using jargons. Ask him back the meaning, and am sure he wont know it. :P Can answer all the queries after a presentation without even have read the case. (This saved us too many times. :P)
One person whom I can proudly say Am lucky to have met and known. You owe me your PGDM btw! :P One person whom I know I will be in touch with always.
Stay the same Parathe! People like you the way you are. And ya. You are my "Chud Bud" :D

  16. Partha, is one of the most admired figure in our batch and it was a pleasure to have such an imminent person in our study group. He always used to surprise us by showing up during the group meetings. But Partha is a real Buddy ( seems I read already this line: real Roadie) and is a fun to work along with him on any task. If he promises commitment towards something then he will surely make that happen. His role as a Placecomm. member has also been very important for our batch and we all really appreciate him for buttering the HR personnels of various companies.
Partha has a very amicable nature and can befriend anyone very easily. He seems to have amassed so much real MBA gyaan that at times he would confuse even the Proffs about their own subjects. He has a strong reasoning power and good oration skills. The best thing that all the group members used to enjoy about Partha that he can deliver a 1 hour sermon on any subject, on any PPT that he would be seeing for the very first time in his life. These are just some of the super-natural powers that Partha has earned with so much labor. And there lies his humbleness , he would never brag about his super powers ; much alike Superman who was equally shy as Partha. Partha is also a true Spartan, he can beat down any damn TT player with real ease, but then again he would never display his yet another super power. Partha is a very elegant and soft-spoken and I guess he never have had any heated discussion ,ever. His inquisitiveness about things is amazing and he seems to come up with such questions at times that could drive any person, far away from sane state of mind.
Kudos to you Partho, you are a real Superman. :-)

  17. Very under rated because of the amount of jargons he throws at you any time of the day, this guy is extremely perseverant. An expert at coming up best of bad jokes , in every situation.
He’s always seen with a smile on his face and I’ve rarely seen him lose his temper. He is selectively dedicated and will give it his best when he chooses to. This is one guy who loves his IT stuff and is extremely knowledgeable about it too.
He is cut out to be a charismatic leader and a corporate honcho one day.
    Cheers!

  18. Partha probably has been the greatest contributor in my having learned TT (m proud to have him as my partner in TT), a guy who knows his skills and leverages them to the fullest (unlike many of us who aren’t even aware of our skills), Consulting and Strategising are things he is best at apart from the ample Bakar that he can deliver during classes. A dedicated PlaceCommer he is diplomatic and level headed. Parthopedia a compendium of his PJs is a tribute to his wittiness.
I am lucky to have had you as a friend Partha….Keep Rocking \m/

  19. Partha was the first person whom I met in PGP 10. Partha was so down to earth and simple that everyday brought me a new surprise as his greatness unfolded slowly at IIMS. He has great knowledge and is a wonderful guy. I saw his submission for the PlaceComm inductions and I must say that I have never seen such quality work in these two years, really.

He was the first friend on campus for me. On day one we went together shopping and he lost his wallet with all documents, cash and card. A true PlaceCommer Partha was always there to guide and help with his suggestions.

Not many people know I guess that Partha is a karate champion. He is very conscious about his health. I remember the time in the months where he only had salads. Famous for his stupid PJs Partha has been a very jovial person I have come across finding happiness everywhere and making others happy.

    Be the same Partha..

  20. Partho---I think the image that comes to my mind on hearing that is a cheerful bubbly person doing a lot of senseless bakar to save Group D's Ass. Indeed a gem of person who is again a very cool person. I remember meeting this guy first time and understood what a nice person he was. I don't remember him talking rudely to anybody anytime.
I think GPL session were the most funny when he used to get hit. I still believe he was a lucky for Group D.
All the best for the future buddy!!!

  21. The first thing that comes to my mind when i think about Partho is his "Ghee Ghee Ghee" :P You can always find him cracking PJs and laughing after that :)

The random bakar he does in most of the group presentations was always fun watching :) He plays awesome TT and his partnership with Raghu will remain the best in IIM Shillong's history :)

A very dedicated placecommer who used to drive most of the other placecommers - he can lighten the mood using his numerous PJs and is a very good speaker himself :)

Always keep in mind the 'achievers' chat we had during TAS :D Remain an achiever for life :)

Wish you have a great life ahead and see you around :)

  22. Partha is one of the most understanding, patient and helpful people around. More famous for his jokes, as he can crack a joke every single moment and laugh every time at his jokes with a sound “ghee ghee ghee”. :P

He has a unique ability of complicating simple things and can talk about almost anything in the world without even knowing about it. He can’t talk without using jargons. :P

He has a typical bong accent and an awesome TT player. A hardworking placecommer and I respect him for his perseverance. Someone who’s always there to help you out and diplomatic at times.

Partha can woo any girl with his charms and sometimes even with scenic beauty from his room and can manage to keep in touch with every single girl.

All the best bhai and keep ghee'ing' !! :-) :-)

  23. Partha – confident, down-to-earth, dedicated, helpful, and one person who can never let go off his “high-level bakar”. He is always cheerful and friendly greeting everyone with a nice smile on his face :) His awesomest PJs need special mention and appreciation. God! It surely takes some amount of real spontaneity to come up with such jokes as his!! Very creative and talented; he is bound to reach great heights in his career. Good luck and keep smiling :)

P.S. – Partha, anytime you want your CV forwarded, just one mail and it would be done… but I don’t think you’ll ever be able to come out of your love for Cognizant though! :P

  24. Two qualities of Partha stand out distinctly when one has to describe him..
    1) His ability to give random bullshit on any topic under the sun.. God level Bakar _/\_ :P
    2) His appetite for PJs... The best PJ cracker of the batch ....cracks one and immediately starts laughing.. Well v need more time to decipher it :P

On a serious note, Partha is extremely amicable, polite and down-to earth inspite of his experience and knowledge.. This makes him dear to all.. n dude please learn a lil more about your hometown :P We saw it al during TAS :P
Wishing you luck for a great life ahead.. You are gonna rock where ever go :) Cheers!! :)

  26. Partha is someone who has mastered the art of Bakar well with jargons thrown in here and there. There are times even now that I fail to understand his complex statements: P. He is a soft spoken and polite person whom I have never seen losing patience or cool even in toughest of the situations. He is a great strategist as well and it was great watching you working in IIM B.

ATB….I am sure you will rock as a consultant!!!!

  27. Partha Mitra - first encounter - footsteps :P and then we never looked up after having identified each other's interest in PJ baazi :) I am such a big fan of your jokes Parathe :P You inspire me and I have learnt a lot from you ;)
I don't like calling guys sweet but 'sweet' suits you so so well. Never to be found doing group work but ever ready to help and brighten up a dull soul's mood - that's Partha for me. Though lately you've been trying to act sophisticated but somethings just don't suit some people. We all like you the bindaas way that you've always been.
And yes how can I forget to mention - date: 23 Dec 2012, occasion: PGP10 term 5 results out. Partha: Please sakshi mujhe mera result dekh k bata na... I am sure mujhe 8+ aayega is baar :P:P TGPA - 8.4 :)
Stay the way you are Partha - people will keep coming/going... Don't change for anyone... God bless you !
Keep smiling humesha :) Miss me :P
