SIDDHARTH JAIDEV

  1. Siddharth, also known to be "Sid", is of very amicable and helping nature at all times. I had very nice time with him during summer internship in Mother Dairy. One interesting thing to note about this person is that he appears extremely cool and jovial even in tense situations, but at the same time strives for perfection in whatever he does. His plain, succinct and honest style of speaking with an innocent chuckle/laugh would impress anyone, which makes him unique. I wish him all the best for all his future endeavors.

  2. On the first impression, this guy comes across as a silent person, going about minding his own business… But beware!! His pranks can leave u both entertained and frustrated depending on which side of it u r on.. His sincerity and dedication coupled with his knack of understanding has always helped us during our marathon group study sessions on the previous nit of exams.. a sensible and clear headed person who sees the practical side of things.. a great and awesome friend who is fun to be with.:):) Stay dis way and don ever change:) :) all the very best Sidj :)

  3. For people who don't know him much, he comes across as a reserved and a nerdy fellow. With people he is close to, he can get really hyperactive.. Whats next is always on top of his mind..He just can't stick to one place and the greatest victim of all his pranks is Harish and to a lesser extent Paul, Vinoth and me :D That innocent laugh after any prank is al it takes to pacify people :P..All this hyperactivity arises from his inquisitiveness.. Highly curious and has to get to the bottom of any new info/gadget that he comes across.. and that makes him a very knowledgeable person. He also has an inherent knack for writing though he makes very less use of this gift!!Tech savvy and practical..has a heart of gold and always there to help people....He has been a great entertainer (giving us more shocks than surprises)and a great friend during our stay at Shillong....I would always value the moments that we spent 2gether.. be it in PB or those many one-dayers around Meghalaya, the famous 2008 wards lake outing :P or tat exhibition where u kept watching us shop :).. Hope you get all that you want in life SidJ :) Don't ever change :)

  4. Sid is small kid captured in a big body... always experimenting with whatever he can lay his hand upon (his mobile phones are testimony to it)...I have never been on the receiving ends of his prank but have been witness to few. His ability to solve any given problem is exceptional and he won’t rest till he finds the perfect solution to a problem and while working he never seems to be in any hurry and takes his time to finish the work perfectly.

Never let the child in you go away...may god give you everything you desire...be happy and stay connected.

  5. Imagine a kid of around 6 years who has a devilish curiosity. Normal na? Now imagine the same kid with a mechanical engineering degree raging with an uncontrollable urge to find out how things work. :D It sounds crazy right? U get Sid :) The innumerable times he has applied his prowess in disassembling things is only well known. His victims range from the unsuspecting (Paul , me…) to the “always on high alert when Sid enters the scene” (Read harish). But the best part of him is his wierd facial reactions which would send people into a laughing fit.

Part of the trio of “The Myrmidons” along with Harish which gave me many a reason to smile and which remains one of my cherished memories in IIM Shillong to date. The innumerable competitions where we would immediately give our names along with THE team name for competitions involving three members was a standard norm. An extremely creative guy who can write so so well except that he does not put much effort into utilising it unless it’s for competitions. Call it destiny but the guy who played Vijay Mallya in one of the PDP sessions ( me and adi were the glamour gals :P) is now set to rock Vijay Mallya’s breweries (literally :D). God save the numerous machines which can be brought down to nuts and bolts by this huge kid in an MBA’s garb :).

His adept at learning new things is showcased by the immensely popular “AWESOMENESS campaign”. The way this guy destroyed my reputation and substantiated the GAY feeling in making a video along with harish and Sawan is legendary ( I ll get back at u guys :D:D). ROFL material. I did not come out of my room only for a couple of days. Always ready to help anyone with a smile is Sid for you. The grin on his face when he accomplishes the mission of irritating harish by using moisturiser as a glue for sticking coins or using the same bottle as a pen stand is a common sight.

Whenever I see a dorm, I ll be reminded of the story of ur Amrita hostels :D:D. These two years would not have been as funny as it was were it not for ur antics Sid. Ll sure miss them. Am sure u ll continue ur tweaking at UB. But keep a low profile. Mallya has enough problems already other than finding out the guy who did “ Ooooh…. What does this button dooooo???” kinda stuff :)
(Dee dee style) Am sure we ll stay in touch. Have an awesome career da.

  7. Sid... a very talented and hardworking individual.I owe him for smoothly sailing through all group assignments especially in the finance and operations domain.A guy reputed to be a great prankster but thankfully I have never been his victim.A jolly fellow who never seems tensed even under the worst of pressures.

I am sure he will achieve tremendous success owing to his determination(especially visible during capstone sessions)and perseverance.

    Cheers Siddy!!!

  8. Sid is a kid - literally :) He does stuffs which would be so uncommon among grown-up people - his levels of curiosity are very high and this means he invariably does something almost every-time and we end up having a laugh over it :) His facial expressions and laughter are probably his biggest assets - he can lighten the mood most times :)

Sid likes to keep fiddling with things around him and this has more often than not resulted in Harish getting victimized :) The way he keeps coming to our rooms is something i love - very often in a day you would find Sid coming to you room and you end up talking to him everyday :)

The numerous AOE games that we have played will always be a lasting memory for me :) He's tech-savvy and can solve any problems we would face on the technology front.

Sid is a gifted writer - am a big fan of his writing (some of his symphony articles and testimonials he wrote for others are proofs for his writing prowess). He's a very good thinker - the numerous videos that he has made or the competitions that he has taken part stand testimony to this fact :)

Sid was destined to be the next Vijay Mallya and now that he's ended up with UB Group, nothing can stop him ;) Wish you and Vijay Mallya (you know why :P) all the very best for the future ;)

    See you around :)

  9. Silent Killer..don't go by his looks..he is a naughty 'kid'..yes, a kid because he is very childish and an expert in pranks which can caught you by surprise...

Jokes apart, he is a wonderful person, hardworking, sincere and quite helping in nature. He can be a bakar king during presentations :P He is little reserved but once he gets going there is no stopping. It was fun being with him in group treats as he never let anyone gets bored.

Sid, it was great knowing you and always be the same. Wish you all the very best in life.

    take care

  10. The intriguingly inquisitive, intentionally disobedient, mischievous brat! I am not talking about a 10 year old here. This is Siddharth Jaidev for those who don’t know him. This guy has created this image so much for himself, that even when he is not behind anything that is out of place or not how/what it should be: the TOMA is Sid!!! – If you find a couple of chewed up pen caps, their chewed up refill and chewed up body along with a few chocolate wrappers and a couple of long lost slippers under your bed! Be calm, take a deep breath, nothing is wrong – Sid has just visited your room. If any of your electronic/mechanical gadgets is not working – Be careful not to let Sid set his eyes on it. If it was not a repairable damage – you can be confident that Sid will get it working. If it is just a small repairable problem, your machine is sure to have multiple other problems as it will end up as this inquisitive guy’s experiment sample.

Harish has probably been on the receiving end maximum and me a small percentage of that in the second year. I still cannot forget, Sid sticking a bubble gum on the room heater just to understand what will happen to it. Just that the heater and the room was Harish’s and a strong aroma just would not leave the room for some time. He has used Harish’s moisturizer as an adhesive to metal and cement, ruined Baba’s lock and what not!!

On a more serious note – This guy is a fellow ops enthusiast and we have shared many a nice nostalgic discussion about mechanical or work. Sid takes all the credit for me winning at least one competition in IIM Shillong. We enjoyed working together on a few occasions and Sid is someone with who anyone can work coz he is a great team player. Sid’s quest for ‘how stuff works’ is amazing, and this has kept him ahead of many others on the knowledge front. Sid has been a great friend and support and I must say again the 2008 factor was large. Sid’s thinking is unique and will add a very different perspective to any discussion.

Hey Sid, I know we will keep in touch for long and will be treading similar careers from here. It was great to know you and it was sure a great journey till now. It was really nice to have you to help me when I have been indecisive on many an issue. I am sure, we will laugh about many a moments even years from now and I waiting to see how much ‘Sid’er your kids are gonna be. All the best!

  11. I have never met such a prankster ever in my life. Nor do I think I ever will. His ‘experiments’ with Harish’s stuff are legendary. I am still not convinced he is the eldest guy in the gang!!!!

If I open my phone to see my text conversations with sid, I see more than 50 messages with more or less the same content, “wake me up at so and so time”.. And he has never forgotten to, not even once.. I was on the verge of going into attendance lack in the 3rd sem by the time Sid intervened. But for him, I would never hav crossed that phase. Thanks da :)..

He is a sensible guy and an efficient worker who will be a great asset to any team. He has an excellent creative and marketing mind that will surpass many of the so-called marketing brains of the batch.

But my most important memory of Sid would be the TT video in the ‘Awesomeness’ campaign. The speed with which he & Harish learnt the tool and the brilliance with which he improvised it to create multiple hands with TT bats for the video astounded me. There would be no ‘awesomeness’ but for ur brilliance :)!!

Hope u continue ur pranks on Harish in UB.. Pls keep us updated..

  12. Sid – Is a calm, composed, mature, prankster. Quite a combination. He comes across as reserved and one who keeps to himself. But that is just the outward appearance. He is a fun loving person, who loves his games and plays all night long. His writing skills are just amazing. I call him the ‘Chief editor’, although he is not a part of Symphony. He can churn up an article with amazing quality within minutes. I just admire his writing skills. He is the ops guy with very strong fundamentals. He is a very inquisitive learner and tries his hand at everything be it video making, designing or any creative work. I am sure these skills will take him to wherever he wants to be! Keep in touch, Sid! You rock!
