Dear Amma the first thing that comes to mind is lots of love and respect. Still remember our study group of three not so studious guys and how we used to get flipped at 3:00 am every exam day (esp the ops mgmt. exam) and u saying ‘lag gayi’ :) As a placecommer I have learnt a lot from you and it has been a pleasure to know you. The caring touch you add to things around you and the eternal smile will be something I would miss. Wishing you loads of happiness and success…don’t forget to invite us to your marriage :)
one of my favorite person on campus, who stays in front of my room and is mostly seen after 6pm. One of the most helping, experienced, kind-hearted and respected person on campus and that’s why addressed by ‘amma’. Like the way she explains or describes something or someone, you can really imagine that person or place or incident while she is explaining it to you. She has an amazing personality with awesome communication skills. She can talk endlessly on any topic to anyone. She speaks lovely Hindi (mixing all the genders and tenses), especially when she speaks out some eastern UP Hindi words, its’ wonderful! Can never forget the line “arey bhai aisa kaise hoga, kaise chalega aise”. She keeps motivating me whenever I am sad and I have had the best laugh with her in the wing. Amma, thanks for everything and wish you success in everything you aspire for.
Sreya Ghose is one of the most humble and helpful persons I have ever met. The only Foran/Bilayati graduate of the batch, this Bong from the Kolkata has names on her CV that makes me wonder every time how am in the college as hers! She is also known to be very hard working for all the causes that she associates herself to. She can strike a rapport with almost everyone she interacts with and makes friends really fast. Gets excited every time someone even talks about restaurant food and is a true connoisseur if I ever met one. Study sessions with her during exams remind me of countless sessions we three had ( Partha included) spending more time for cursing the professor for setting such a course rather than studying. She used to be the one who would make pdf notes for the exams to be used at the “necessary times” through mobile devices and played the same song over the course of 24 exams that we studied together for. You are meant for very many great things in life and may you achieve all the heights of success. Best of Luck. Cheers!
Ammaaaa!!!! Respect is the first word that comes for her... She is Amma in true sense, taking care of her children :) An extremely cool, calm & composed personality, I have never seen her losing temper. And I am lucky to get special affection from her, though she took quite sometime to memorize my name ;) I owe my internship to her, she was the one who forced me to wake up & go for the interview. Almost the same episode was repeated at the job interview, when a brief 2 minute talk with her eased all my tension. But her humble nature never allows her to take any sort of credit. No one can be sad when she is around, she has some sort of magic wand that alleviates one from all the worries. One more thing that is characteristic of her is her amazing Hindi usage, that leaves the audience spellbound :P Only thing I dislike about her is that she doesn't allow me to tease anyone in her presence :(
Amma, U will expect someone of her age to be serious about things but talk about any party night and she will be the first one to materialize the plans Someone who loves Bongs like anything :P :P. She is someone who has a very sweet voice that makes u sleep every time she comes to give a presentation. Always found with her big mug of tea. I will wait for day when I can compete with her in taking neat shots. A caring and very sweet person, u are Amma in a true sense. All the Best Amma
Amma!! Words to describe you would be fun, loving, caring, the one bong who hates every other bong, party and drinking buddy, loves work-life, someone who hates this place as much as i do and above all, an amazing friend.
There are innumerable memories with you that have been etched in my mind forever(and yes, all of them are good ones). All our college bitching sessions are my favourite ones. Our parties in D's room were simply the best. There is a lot that i have learnt from you and hope to emulate in my life too. Some of them being taking things without letting them affect you personally and always keeping a smiling face irrespective of how angry/annoyed you are.
Amongst the few who never really fit in the place, i know for sure that these two years would have never been the same without you and your encouraging words. I wish you all the success in the world and hope that your wish becomes a reality. Love you amma.
Sreya is called as Amma by many, maybe because she's one of the eldest members of our batch (oops, I guess I shouldn't have said that in public :P). But whatever be the reason for that, her personality & maturity is such that everyone, including yours truly, would love to have an elder sis like her. She's a warm-hearted and a really friendly lady - a really wonderful person to know or have as a friend. Her sense of responsibility & dedication is for everyone to see given that she's a PlaceCommer - she silently puts in so much effort into it that it's easy for everyone to appreciate how much she cares for everyone in the batch.
And now let me come to another side of her persona. Sreya's sense of humour is incredible to say the least - her one-liners, punchlines & wisecracks can be offbalancing at times given the kind of wit as well as darkly funny & even self-deprecating humour she resorts to such effortlessly. Consequently, its always so much fun to be with her & laugh at every god-damned thing in the world (nothing is sacrosanct or out of bounds for her) over a smoke or a drink. She might seem a really reserved person from a distance, but you need to know her to experience this lively & fun-loving side of her. She's also well-read, & loves good music & movies.
And yes, she has possibly the best communication skills in our batch, though she rarely speaks in public. She speaks with a soft voice, but her diction, her choice of words & phrases, the way she pronounces her words, her fluency, and her ability to pepper her speech with deadpan humour (reminiscent of Coen Brothers' movies), always leaves me spellbound. Add to that the sense of dignity she exudes makes her a natural-born leader.
I hope to share many more smokes, drinks & politically incorrect jokes with Madame Ghose :)
Caring… adventurous yet responsible.. Respected.. these three characteristics are what I think define her.. the CR of our section She is one special woman who knows the right mix of fun and work.. God bless you Sreya :) :)
Sreya is youngest by heart on campus. I really enjoy dancing with her. She can bring life to any of the dance party but only on English music. She is really very caring and has helped me a lot. If you need advice on anything she is the right person. She is very fun loving, enjoy every bit of her life.
Sreya is just like an Elder sis :) She would be the first one to compliment you (and raise you to the skies :P) when something about you is even slightly good :) and when she starts narrating some stories or incidents, we all just roll into laughter!!! She’s very humble and down-to-earth, really caring and helpful always, loves partying yet with so much maturity in thinking. You are meant for greater things and hope you achieve all that you deserve in life :) And don’t forget to invite us for the permanent placement ceremony ;)
A great friend, an elder sister, a caring mother, a hard-working professional are some of the ways our pyaari 'Amma' may be described. She is a hard-core Bengali and loves deeply with anything that has a Bengali touch. She is always there with her smiling and composed face to help you with anything under her capabilities. She loves playing pranks but always ensures that never makes a fun of the things. She is matured, may be because of her age, but the talent lies in gelling herself with the rest of the batch that her age was immaterial. She has been one of those whom I made the first presentation in the group in Footsteps. I wish her all the very best for her future endeavours!
Thank you amma, for all the words of comfort and warm-hugs-for-no-particular-reason. You’re probably the only one in the batch who makes everyone feel special, and though I should be in awe of you, the time that I am with you, I forget about that. You let me be me. I love the way you present, almost nonchalantly but using carefully chosen words. Thanks for working on my CV the day before my placement, I am pretty sure your tweaking got me through.
Now that I am done with the serious stuff, it’s lovely to be your wing-mate. Your taste in music is amazing, you smell great and are basically a darling. I hope that all your dreams come true, even the very small ones. Have a great life and keep smiling :)
Amma is a very caring person in the entire campus. Perhaps the reason why everyone calls her Amma. She is the life of any party. She always welcome people with warm smile. Her grades here might not reflect her hidden talent. She is way above these grades and CGPA. Her talent and intelligence cannot be justified by numbers. She has her own way of self-presentation to the people. A true bengali at heart. Yes we do share the Bong Connection as well. Though for one or two papers only we worked together but it was fun and enriching to have Amma working along side you. Wishing you great success Amma. Keep Smiling Always :)
Amma - she has earned that name :) She commands respect and is a lovable person :) I came to know this amazing lady through my room-mate Sunil. I love the way she calls me "Sunshine" :) Her work for placecomm is rarely appreciated - she deserves more than just appreciation :)
Wish you have a great great life ahead and i know i will see you around :)
Sreya, she is caring, supportive, helpful ... very soft spoken, humble, down-to-earth... many a times she did make me feel at home ... thanks a lot for everything :) ... do invite us for the permanent placement party ;) if possible get me one :P All the best :)
Ghose madaaaaaaam as i call her is typical 'Bong'. Fooood is what she is here on earth for . She is so comfortable with herself that she so comfortably mingles with anyone. Her easy going dialect can be addictive and you may want to hear more from her.
Caring, supporting and practical.
Be in touch ghose madaaaam, keep smiling and keep making people smile :)
Though I had a very limited number of interactions with Sreya, in the past two years but every time I met her, she would influence me. It always makes me more curious to know this wonderful person and I am left with no other option but compelled to think as to how could someone made of Flesh and Blood with so self-less and so pure at heart. I have seen her for innumerable times during the times we have senior managers coming to our campus for the recruitments; she would be running around to arrange everything so that the recruiters pick more and more students. At times, she would herself go to the mess kitchen and prepare food or at times would serve them to the recruiters, herself. And while doing so, at times she would even listen to their crappy comments and handle everything so graciously. Really, it takes a lot patience to endure such people (counting Mr. HSC along, always spreading nuisance at that time). She seems to have a soft corner for everyone in this campus and at several instances she would stop me from teasing even those people, whom the whole batch would hack down to death for their insolence or loose talks. She has worked really silently for our placements and would never make a fuss about anything that she does. I really regret for the fact that despite all her kind acts I could not give her a mess menu that would have chicken on all 7 days and for all 4 meals. I understand that the regular mess menu is more of ‘GHAAS FOOS’ for you, but please keep up with it for it’s a just of few more days. Thanks a lot for lot many things that would have been incomplete or impossible without you.
The most liked, most respected and most adorable person in our batch.. She is a great foodie.. with awesome tastes for a variety of food!! She is a kind of person with whom I can freely share my feelings.. She is so understanding and comforting.. I love you so muchhh…
She is very intelligent, quick witted and I have hardly seen any other person who can gel up so easily with anyone and everyone and yet maintain her own dignity commanding respect from one and all!
And yes… very soon make a trip to your favourite place on the earth.. Puri and I would be more than happy to arrange for your hospitality at my place :)
May god fulfill all your wishes and fill your life with all the happiness of this world!!
Respect is what comes in mind when you think of Sreya. She has been the best Roommate :) A person with whom I could share my stories, I can pour my heart out to her. She has been a great motivation and support for me in these two years and not just for me but for almost everyone here. She has a heart of gold. She loves to party, listening to English numbers, having great food (read no Veg food :P). She is committed to her work as a PlaceCommer and group work too.. I have a great group dynamics in their study group. She deserves a lot more than what she has received till now. I hope she gets the best both in her Personal and Professional life. I am so luck that I came to know a person like you. Stay in touch. :) All the best :)
Amma – as we affectionately call her is one of the most warm and affable people one can come across. She is truly a mother figure: very humble, caring and dignified. She is a total party freak who gets excited at every opportunity to party or just go out for a dinner. A very diligent worker, she puts efforts where it makes the most sense. Amma, you are sure to do well wherever you go! Cheers! Keep in touch :)
