RAMYA RAMASWAMY

  1. Ramya is one of the most dedicated, intelligent, hard-working and smart girls in our batch. She manages to excel at whatever she chooses to do, and her bold outlook towards life and fearlessness in speaking her mind will take her a long way in life. Many guys in our batch are scared of her, and no one dares cross her path when she is angry! Ramya is someone who will always be there to help a friend, through thick and thin. I have always been in awe of your dedication and determination! Wish you all the very best in life :)

  2. Ok .. I have the honor of being the first person to be slapped by Her Highness in IIM S…. and ya the slapping still continues… Ramya is jus way too amazing .. she can be hyper angry at one time and immediately nice and sweet the next minute … she just loves her friends too much and the only reason behind her anger is friends disappointing her .. she ll do anything for her friends and lives for them entirely… like I really mean it .. she will even skip GIRC to come out wit us for a trek …. Tats hw much friends mean to her …
She is a strict teacher … extremely intelligent .. our sole saviour durin QT, accounts, fin .. ok all exams to be frank .. can never frget those tuitions .. all of us are extremely grateful to ramya for helping us out every single time during end sems… but more than her lessons it is the sight of her storming out of the room and slamming the door behind tat brings a smile on our faces… boy ! do we love to irritate her .. especially when she is teaching us :P her fights with all of us, verbal assaults at Paul and the sight of him trembling before her will be etched in our hearts fr eternity :) ( and btw I am not at all scared of ramya )
She is extremely caring .. would be the first person to help us if we re sick, hungry or in need of any damn thing … wonderful in organising events and at ‘art and craft’ … I will never frget hw she brightened my bday with tat amazing treasure hunt .. thanks once again ramya …
I swear m writing this without any fear … nor was I coerced or slapped into writing this but ya ramya is one of kind and really brought in a whole new flavour to college life … I jus hope u had ur trademark glare on ur face when u read this Ramya .. hahaha … thanks for the wonderful memories :)

  4. I am sure i would be writing the same line for everyone i comment for but i am sure you will be the one who will be at the top of my list for the person who i would have teased the most....The great thing about you is the ability to be angry and sweet in like 2 seconds time...i will never forget the study sessions we had together, the numerous outings, Nomura Case study competition, playing badminton in the nights, but more importantly the for being there when i needed some one's help...one word to describe you would be Smart...i really hope you don't change the way you are ( although reduce your weight and stop slapping people :P ) and wish you all the success in your future endeavors..May God Bless You !!!

  5. A very sensitive girl with an underlying violent streak :P. OMG… I take that back… she is very well mannered and quiet at all times… teachers do not fear her nor does Paul… Phew!! that was close. The child of our group with a very strong sense of friendship, she does get angry but doesn’t stay so for long. We love to be there when there is a fight and Ramya is involved, it’s so entertaining :P. She has a razor sharp mind with equally efficient ears :P. There would be quite a few 2 pointers (read Harish, me, Paul and a few others) if not for her pre-exam lessons (the only time Paul goes ‘huh’ when someone is talking). Thank you Rams for my PGDM. A genuine friend if you ever need one. Angry young woman Ramya Ramaswamy, may your signature adorn all Indian currency notes.

  6. I have known Ramya as a very vocal girl who never hesitates to fight for her cause. Highly committed to studies and fun as well. Highesst CGPA, GIRC Winner and so many more achievements are just testimonial to her hard-work. Wish u great success ahead. Keep Smiling Always :)

  7. Ramya is a fun company to be with. Let it be treks, treats or football matches, she will love to accompany friends and have a blast of time. A very genuine person and hence you can be sure that she will never back stab or back bitch about you. If she hates you she will say it on the face and might even go to the extent of hitting a tight slap :P.
An extremely intelligent person, GIRC star of IIM Shillong and an amazing human being. Keep rocking like this and I wish loads of success to you in future.

  9. Right from the first few interactions till now, every time I get to talk to her I am so reminded of my sister – Loud, careless and those amazingly unique quality of rapid phase changes(I have seen very few to possess). She can yell at you at the top of her voice and the very next moment move on to be the soft, emotional person. This connect factor probably got me to know this person a little more than I would have otherwise and I am glad for the same.

She is too intelligent in my perception of her. She can grasp concepts even before they are spelt. It took me sometime to understand whether she was really that intelligent or is he making it up but now I am confident that it is the former. She can read books at equally rapid pace as well. She is always ready to teach and help and she takes quite some credit for my turn around in grades here. Considering her super intelligent status and the quite contrary ‘damn slow in grasping’ me the teaching sessions are hilarious in hindsight. I will always remember the stunned look that Siddharth and I share during those moments when just about nothing enters our head.

Ramya is someone who is caring and helpful at heart. Though at times, considering her frank and rugged expressions the help comes across seemingly hard. But, you can be rest assured that she would be there for you throughout. She is good at cooking and along with Ragini ensured a good meal for everyone here on many an occasion.

She trusts people a lot and is also equally trustable. Though, she can be seemingly harsh in expressions she is someone who is gentle at heart and intent. She is a great friend and takes pride in her circle of friends. A latest revelation is her high level of discipline in reducing weight! She can go with eating any kind of ‘eatable food’ for close to a month.

Ramya, it was great knowing you. Some of the best moments at IIM Shillong have been when you have been around. I have learnt a lot from the way you see things and your perspective. The numerous discussions that we have had will always be remembered and I will continue telling you, just like I tell my sister “Be a girl”. I am sure you will achieve big in life and will grow to be the woman you want to be. Wishing you the very best in all that you do.

  10. Ramya is one girl you wouldn’t want to mess with, she doesn’t mind using anything in her hand or within her reach as a weapon to hit you repeatedly.
That said, she’s also one of the coolest gals in the batch, who’s always smiling. She is also extremely hardworking and is sometimes seen asking questions in the classroom that bamboozle the teacher ( esp. Mr Project Fin ) . She is also very talented and her good grades are a testimony to that fact.
She will never shy away from speaking her mind, and that is one quality I respect a lot .
I hope I get to see currency notes with your sign on them Ramya!
    Cheers!

  11. When people ask me about what i learnt in IIM Shillong, i needn't go beyond Ramya.

Ramya and I have never got along with each other though we have been in the same school/college for the past 8 years. When i was in UG, i wouldn't have cared to go out with the circle of friends which had Ramya in it but IIM Shillong has added another feature to me - to remain patient with people with whom i don't get along with. This i believe is the greatest learning that i can take from IIM Shillong - that's one reason why i have made so many friends in IIM Shillong than i have ever done in my life.

Life's not a bed of roses and there are various kinds of people whom you get to meet - some you like, some with whom you are compatible, some with whom you are not compatible, some you don't like. It's important to be tolerant towards all kinds of people. My relationship with Ramya is a testimony to this fact - i have remained tolerant in IIM Shillong (i wouldn't have cared to remain tolerant earlier) and we have never showed our lack of liking towards each other to the outer public. I respect her for that.

Ramya is an out and out achiever who has always been in top 1% in her academics. Her track record is something which very few people can boast of. She's extremely emotional when it comes to friends - i have seen her literally fight for friends (Paul and Ragini will know much better :D). She's the only girl i know of who slaps guys without giving it any thought (Harish and Vinoth will know much better :D). Her complaining nature sometimes gets on my nerves - but i have realized she complains just for the sake of it and this has helped me control my reactions (many people know how i react :))

Wish you have a great life ahead and hope to see you around :)

  12. A go-getter, cheerful, gym freak Ramya is a free spirited girl who doesn’t care about what will happen next. Lives life to the fullest and is bindaas in true sense. She can balance a hell lot of things at the same time – acads, sports, club activities and enjoying all the while too!
Never does she put any charade unlike others and will not hesitate to call a spade a spade. It is this frankness of her which makes me respect her. Though she is one of the youngest in the batch she is mature and contrary to people’s belief she has an emotional side too (she just doesn’t show it). She has been a great friend here. See you around.
Lots of luck for the future Ramya :)

  13. We couldn’t interact much in the 1st year but it was good that I got a chance to know her better when we became wing mates in the 2nd year.. A very frank and a genuine person, always wants to have fun and enjoy life.. An extremely intelligent person, quick to work on problems and a very deserving person for GIRC.. Wish you luck for the finals at HK and also for your career ahead!!
Waise, there is one thing that I had always wanted to learn from her, her dedication in going to the gym no matter how busy the schedule is or how cold it it is :):)

  14. Ramya – A smart, confident, daring, intelligent, fun-loving and straight forward girl with a sweet smile :) She is adventurous in nature – we’ve gone out for many trips together which are very memorable… Very frank in her opinions, and her hardwork and dedication could help her achieve whatever she wants! Grades, GIRC are a testimony to that… Your confidence and dedication will take you places Ramya! Keep smiling :)

  15. A very smart and one of the most confident persons one campus. She understands and picks up concepts really fast. Have bonded well with her during exams as we usually sit together. IF was one such paper which we have given together. :P

Admire you for your efforts on all fronts and being an all-rounder. You have truly made our college proud at GIRC. Hoping for even more success at Hong Kong. Looking forward to a more relaxed and enriching experience for both of us at RBI.

Wish the best of things for you.

    Cheers!!!

  16. “What YA, finish the meeting fast YA . I have to go to sleep by 10”. Liar Ramya Ramaswamy. Always talking about having other stuff to do when we have group work but actually only has to gossip some more with Ragini or more likely Paul :) . But bear in mind, she is perhaps the hardest worker in our Group N and I can truly say I haven’t seen anyone work faster (with quality work). She is very intelligent (GIRC ain’t no kid’s play!) and has managed to be in the Top 5-6 of the batch throughout.
On a lighter note, she has a unique way of presentation and constantly reminds to me to say “WE AS A GROUP” in each presentation rather than “I”. She is a girl of both extremes acting extremely mature at times of need to borderline childish by hitting other people :D. As she has studied in the same college as my room mate and shares a very INTERESTING relationship with him to say the least, her interactions with him are fun to watch! She loves Chennai and cribs about being so far from her hometown. Best of luck to you for your future journeys and send me some rupee notes, now that you are on the inside! Cheers!

  17. Ramya, this name is much alike as Sir Issac Newton for me and definitely for almost the remaining batch of ours. Obviously, if you talk about grades then I think she is synonym of the word "Topper" and she definitely commands respect from every student in our campus. Though I have not interacted much with her, but through our limited interactions I have seen the committment towards everything she does; be it studies , be its Ops-club activities or be it Gym.
To be honest I am really afraid of her and if during any discussion I see her raising her eyebrows, I always choose to zip my mouth. But then so many people were able to clear their exams because of her only. To my knowledge there is not even a single subject where one would say that Ramya is weak at, she has attained perfection in everything she has aimed for. All the best to you Ramya !

  18. Ramya- This girl is one of the boldest of the girls I've met. If she does not agree on something, she would outrightly say it. That's the best thing I like about her. She can give a run to all the guys even with her voice and her boldness. :)
Really like your spirit to try and understand Hindi movies and watch them. They won't have been fun without you ppl.
N ya. Once she is dedicated and has decided on something-she stands by it. I've never seen anyone with so much dedication of losing weight. Hats off for that. You've been successful even. :)
Keep the smile on Ramya. Always. You look beautiful with that. :)

  19. Hmm where do I start?? First time I met her was during Cisco interview in UG. And then I got to know that a girl called Ramya had cleared IIM Shillong and I was eagerly waiting for her in the Chennai meet :P. Imagine my surprise (or should I say shock) when I saw that this Ramya was the one I had already interacted with. :P and I was thoroughly disappointed :D:D:P. But now I’m glad this RAMYA came to IIM Shillong . Ramya is one of the most caring gals I ve come across. I mean how can a person be so selfless? If I were in Ramya’s shoes, I would have shut myself off for the incessant leg pullings that we have done on her. I have never seen someone so expressive and emotional. Although I have gone through some similar emotions, I tend to keep it to myself. She is the favourite of everyone for leg pullings and teasings and I guess we have never ever teased anyone as much as Ramya.

Some of the best moments in IIM Shillong was when she was around and some of the most hilarious moments were when she was not around :P( We would be imagining how Ramya would react when she comes to know we left without her). See, our thoughts were always centred around you no matter what. But the best part about Ramya is her helping nature. I dunno how people can ever be so selfless when it comes to their friends. One moment she would be shouting and shouting is just an understatement. We need to be on our reflexes coz u never know what might come flying at you :D. But one word “ hungry” or “help” is what is required for transforming her to the sweetest gal who will cook anything or do anything to help the person in need. I have been at the receiving end of both. OK people, just a clarification. Ramya dint slap me. She just clapped very near my cheeks and my cheeks got hit. So if u hear any other story plz don believe it :D.

Ramya has consistently been in the top league in academics. The study sessions where you would ask each and every one if they have understood even if it meant halting your pace just substantiates the devotion you have for ur friends. I have been guilty on many occasions for taking you for granted and probably I have been angry on numerous occasions on you for no fault of yours. I just hope u understand I dint mean it. Ramya is an extremely cool girl and I got a glimpse of it during our footsteps. It was just after our seniors blasting us and all of us were shell shocked. Many gals started crying too. But ramya removed her blazer, put her legs on the chair in front of her and said “Thank god those irritating seniors left and I can sleep now. From tomo, no more sessions by the stupid seniors”. That’s Ramya for you.

These were just a trailer into the kind of fun we had. I could never do justice to the entire gamut of memories, scoldings, leg pullings, irritatings :P, that I ve done to you. The best memory of course was slamming the door right in our faces when you went out of harish’s room. I really dunno if I truly deserved what all you have done for me over the past 2 years. And as I said, I am very glad you were the Ramya who came into IIM S and not anyone else. I mean it from the bottom of my heart :) Thanks Ramya for pulling everyone out for NC sessions. Else we would not have had so much fun as we had over the past 2 years. I’m sure we ll stay in touch in Bombay :).

P.S I really am waiting for the day to see your SIZE ZERO figure. :P:P:P and the item gal dance. I have loads of songs for the occasion :D:D . Be the al-rounder [not a round “aal” (means “not a round person” :P)] that u were during Kopda gals match :P:P :D

  20. Ramya – The first thing which comes to my mind about this girl is our first group activity during footsteps. My first impression about this gal was that she would be a head-weighted (probably the first time I was wrong). But as days went by I realized how wrong I was. On the exterior she might appear to be rude and aggressive. But that’s not what she is. She is a very caring and a down-to-earth girl who is helpful at heart. She is an extremely intelligent girl who can grasp things quickly. Won’t forget those finance night study sessions. She takes real effort to help people and really worked hard to make Paul get 8. She is also known for her sharp hearing skills which amazes people. “An extra-sound soothing music” - That is Ramya for you. All the best Ramya!!!!!

  21. My fellow group mate.. Ramya is a very intelligent person.. dedicated to her work.. whether acads or weightloss :) and yes, can’t forget to mention that she has got such a sweet smile :)

Wish you all the best for your future!!

  22. Before I say anything else, most most importantly, Ramya is the SINGLE-most influential person in my life. Think, if she had not sent me to Gurgaon where would I be now :D??? Thank you Ramya :D!!

Many a time Ramya has been the go-to person (after me :P) when the gang wants to take a dig at someone just for the heck of it.

Thank you for teaching me during all those exams… I remember how she used to get angry when people weren’t concentrating to u teaching :P. But if not for her teaching and sincerity during exams, I don’t know if I would have crossed this course :).. And finally, thanks for those super side-dishes (Low in fat :P) u make. Someone is real lucky :D..

Sorry we missed you sometimes while going on trips. All those are Paul’s planning, I got nothing to do with it :P :D!!

    Cheers,
    Raba

  23. Ramya... My first interaction with her was not an ideal one.. she was preoccupied, replied wid one-liners for all my queries :P .. I really thought she was 'too much attitude' types :P But how wrong was I...within a week after coming to Shillong, we used to gang up in her/ Sandhya's room and chit chat for hours together :)She always had loooong stories to tell unlike our first meeting :P But for you, Life at IIM would have been a real bore and I really mean this!! When ever I wntd to stretch my legs I would barge into Ramya's room and end up gossiping thr :P
She doesn't like fighting but she just can't help it! :P But behind this veil is a kind heart that is ever ready to help people in need, feed people who seem to go hungry and teach lazy bones like us before exams :) I can completely understand how irritating it must have been to teach each one of us, more so wen she herself had nt cmpltd the portions.. But tat never hindered her determination to c us thru the exams :) her aptitude for quants is just as amazing as her intolerance towards HR :P She is quick, efficient and a perfectionist.. But that doesn't mean you see her room neat and tidy all the time ;) She can never hold grudge against people she likes for too long... and Ramya I love you so much for this nature of yours.. I know that 15 minutes after a fight we are gonna remain the same close frnds :)
Would always cherish the countless moments we spent together and they would always be special to me.. You have not only been my friend, but also a confidante with who I could share all my feelings..the late night girlie talks or those stupid gossips...our famous south indian recipes..shopping sprees.. It would have been gr8 had we got a chance to stay togethr in Mumbai..But destiny has different plans fa us.. n I am sure we r gonna stay connected :) You look very pretty when u smile..So don let it fade.. Luv u loads :)

  24. Pandu Ramyaaaa …. :P There was a time when I had an impression that she is like an angry young woman. But, I must say, she proved me wrong. Eventually, when we spent more time during work or bakar sessions in 2nd year, she came across as a person who is very caring and very gentle at heart. Friends are very important to her and she is up for anything when it comes to helping them in any way possible. A walk down through our wing and she makes sure she meets and talks to everyone in the wing when she is here. There have been times when there was a lot of mismatch in her expectations from her friends and what actually happened and hence the outburst of anger and frustration sometimes. :)

Exceptionally sharp, intelligent and fast at understanding and grasping concepts. She teaches stuff during exams at rapid pace and speed and its fun to watch Harish, SidJ and Paul’s Expressions then!! Hahaha .. Awesome fun!! Nor can they comprehend what’s going on nor can they dare to ask her again :P :P. Very hardworking, very quick and adept at finishing work in a limited amount of time.
Other interesting things about her include her super observing power and attention to minute details in various situations, her sharp hearing ability, and her knowledge about a lot of diverse things. There have been quite a few times too when me and Vinoth have had small laughs during situations where Ramya may not know about something but pretends or covers up as if she knew all about it. :P

She has been a target for leg pulling a lot of times during our bakar sessions and .. hahaha .. its fun to watch Ramya getting involved in verbal fights.. especially the ones with Paul :P :P.

Have awesome fun filled future ahead!! And, before I forget, all the best for your weight reduction program :P :)

  25. Ramya, the pandoo girl, is a combination of intelligence and aggression. Her grasping power is extraordinary and I ve admired the way she can pick up new concepts. She loves her friends and is much more mature than she appears to be. A very volatile girl who can get angry in a moment, only to cool down a few mins later. When you see her fighting over some trivial issue, you feel as though something serious is happening towards the end of the world; but, within a few moments, all is well and Ramya is back to her normal self. A very caring girl, she will be there when you need her. She is one of the most straight forward people that I have met. When she has to say something, she will say in on the face, the moment she feels it. All the best, Rams! Keep in touch :)
