PARMINDER SINGH SALUJA

12 comments:

  1. My first memory of Pam is of a smart sardar who took my umbrella at the inauguration function, thinking it was college property. Pam is smart, confident and has a way of getting work done out of people. He is not someone I would want to cross, and can be very scary and intimidating when angry. He is the only surd I have seen, who loves to flaunt his open hair and this adds to Pam’s overall charisma. A good cricketer, I will always remember Pam for the trips and treks and the boating in Ward’s lake. His jovial nature and outlook towards life has always amazed me, and I am sure you will do very well in life. All the best! I do hope you remember my name, and I will miss all those meetings where the only thing to laugh about was that you forgot someone’s name! :P

  2. Pappaji he is that one elusive personality of our campus. Just like a cyclone..he is unpredictable; the very next moment you seem to decipher him. But then that what makes him different. A fellow pcommer it has been a pleasure to be a part of the team. I still remember him screening the bday party videos in the PGP sessions..crazyy guy he is !! PS: In case u have forgotten my name or in your DIG sessions. Ur Excused :) coz it is assumed….

  3. Pappaji …one of the craziest persons I ve come across… if u were to compare him wit any of the on-screen characters – Captain Jack Sparrow would be most apt ! Had Pam done Pirates of the Caribbean am sure the tale would ve been a zillion times funnier and crazier !! a guy who lives life to the fullest … he has an extremely simple way of explaining everything.. even the most complex things.. his logics are totally crazy but I really love them … the way he can come up with jokes even in the most serious of situations is totally amazing …. And to go with tat his funny tone jus adds up to all the fun …
his never ending love for chicken, alcohol, his “burning desire” to screw paul whenever possible, his random bakkar in class – especially DP in Sonia’s classes… getting screwed in RISE.. his string of ducks in cricket … will always be fresh in our minds for years to come…
Ya a lot of ppl know the crazy Pam .. but there is a serious one too .. I dunno how many ppl remember Pam taking up the lead during the huge discussion after Senior Stud C screwed us … It was Pam who led from the front .. initiated discussions and really got the whole batch contemplating on what to do next !! ( hahaha pam really funny to recall tat incident ) Pam can be really serious when the situation demands … he is extremely hard working ( again when the situation demands) I feel really sorry for ur study group though :P this guy can really deliver quality work ! a total smart ass Sardar! But still.. we really love the Pam who would run behind every group to get his name included in the group rather than a hard working one :P
I don’t think ll ever come across anyone in my life who can go in to a marketing interview not knowing the 4th P ( or was it all the 4 P’s ?) and still .. convert it .. my god ! Pam u r truly CRAZY.. and be so for the rest of your life …

    -from an ardent fan

  4. I am sorry Pam to intrude in your privacy in first year. But you have never said anything to me for that. I remember you watching TV in study room because of me.
I will never forget your laugh, the way you used to ask about the syllabus one day before the exam. And yea I miss those parties which we used to have in B5. Amazing days those were. Promise me to organize such more parties in Mumbai also.

    ll miss u...All the best...

  5. Pam – One person who can go on talking on any given topic! Whenever there is any group task involving random bakar in class – be it HR, Economics, IT, Ecology, or CSR – you know he is the one :) Fun loving, very enthu about trekking and discovering new places… can work really hard when the situation demands (i.e. when he has no choice but to complete the work individually :P) and really helpful when really required :) Very very very forgetful..!! If you ask him now, I’m 99% sure, he will remember neither the name of our study group, nor the count of the members in the group (Is it five/six?? :P :P) All the best Pam! :)

P.S. – Pam, it is “Group C” :) and pls do remember that I was part of your study group once upon a time!

  6. Pammi!! The first thing you'll notice about this guy is his weird beard which is nowhere close to being a Sardar. :P You cannot NOT get fond of his comments for everyone. He can make you laugh in any situation either on people or might just be himself. Loves bikes and treks. First one to have explored places in and around Shillong. Has extreme fondness for chicken and daaru. But sambhalti ek peg bhi nahi. :P Best thing which I like about him is his sense of humor. Might comment on alot of stuff but forgets it the very next moment.
He can go on and on on any freakin' topic. Can do appropriate amount of DP whenever needed.
Thank you for giving back my luck which I gave you on the bike ride. :P ;)
Needless to say, you'll be awesome wherever you go. Good luck! :)

  7. Parminder loves cricket, football, chicken, adventure, bikes and can smartly evade a situation in class by giving a random answer to a question being raised by the professor that the entire discussion moves to this new (read unrelated) topic. He efficiently manages to get his work from others, enjoys entering into arguments with Paul, and surprises one with questions like ‘yeh kaam kab diya tha prof ne?’ or ‘aaj to dusri class hai na?’ (When more than 8 classes are over :P ).
But on a serious note he talks strictly in terms of business, employs great strategies (I remember the PC-PR meets) and possesses all the traits expected of a PlaceCommer. I like his never-sticking-on-to-the-past nature (he hardly remembers the last sentence he spoke), he is a great friend to have around.
I know you’ll find your way up in any organization without much effort. Enjoy! :)
PS: Thanks for having stopped cursing me for occupying the TT room for long time :P

  8. Papaji is one crazy sardar - he drinks a lot, he eats a lot of chicken, he dances madly, he plays mad cricket, he drives a mad bike as well :D

The only week where he managed to fool a lot of us was during our Footsteps - all of us remember how he got up to the stage and started addressing the batch with clenched fists - it was after the Senior StudC had blasted us as part of the footsteps ceremony :P

He's a marketer now :P Tata Motors is going to have a tough time having both him and Paul in the same company :P

A big fan of his crazy ways - not even Mantri could come close to your standards :D

Wish you have a great life ahead and see you around :)

  9. Well there are pamphlets, and then there is papaji! This chicken gobbling booze guzzling crazy sardar is probably the wackiest person on campus. With swearings pouring out of him in each sentence, he is also the most polite person I’ve ever met :P. Known popularly as Pam, Papaji or sPam, this placecommer also gives new heights to the term ‘random bakar’ :P.

Section 1 will always remember him for making hilarious statements during presentations like: “there was one company and there was also another company, whose name I cannot remember right now”. Famous for skipping classes, he is also legendary for and forgetting names of people in general. Following are a few examples when he manages to ‘partly’ remember some of the names: ‘Sakshi Yadav’, ‘Nikhil Tandon’, ‘Laxhmi’ (instead of Rashmi) :P.

He is probably the only person I’ll ever know who can actually ride a bike alone while talking to the pillion all the while. When you are with papaji, such funny incidents keep happening around you! All those daru sessions, pre-exam study sessions and those wacky b-plans will always be remembered by me!

Hope to see you around papaji!

  10. Three things means life for Pappaji - Chicken, Alcohol & Trekking. He wants to have chicken daily. Crazy about drinking and gets out-of-control after the first peg itself! :P Loves roaming; first one to explore places in and around Shillong, be it waterfall or some trek.
Pam is a crazy sardar with a weird chinese beard and an awesome hairstyle. Loves to use slangs in every sentence of his. He holds ability to create tremendous nuisance in your life, if you get on his target (Poor Paul). Pam and his pamphlets, brilliant joke by Sakshi is something one can never forget in life.
Last but not the least, his short term memory loss. Can forget even the names of his closest of friends on any given time.

Being a PC member, he deserves a _/\_.
    Stay crazy.

  11. Pamwa... "Kya haal chhokri?"... "Dikhti nahi tu aajkal"... "Yaar koi le jao isko yahan se"... "Tujhe samajh aata hai - aise jhalle log corporate life mein nahi jate"... " HI HI HI HI HI..." !!! That's PAM for me... the chinki sardar all of us know :)
Straightforward, main-to-aisa-hi-hun attitude is what I've liked most in you... Stay as you are - i-will-do-things-i-like-doing-most, i-will-call-you-by-any-name-i-like/remember, i-love-taking-initiatives... :)
Itne punjabi songs bheje tujhe in 2 saalon mein... Thank you to bol deta :P
I'm sure you'll rock everyplace that has the honour of having you :)
Keep smiling humesha :) Miss me :P

  12. I had an altogether different thinking about MBA life at IIMs, but after very first interaction with Pam, my Group C mate (and even many other elective subjects too), my perception has completely changed. The attribute which used the change which I am referring to here is his extreme coolness and his causal, but practical way of life :P
--> His is the one who dares enough to send EOI for football matches around 6 AM in the morning in-spite of examination times
--> He is the one who delivers Group PPTs so confidently without much prior preparation (which I am quite sure) using his excellent "bakar" skills ( I still remember how he managed to prepare and present a case PPT alone in SEEB :) :))
--> He is one who uses all of his "Jugaad" skills in making sure that work entrusted to him is done in time.
As a placecommer, I always had frequent interaction with him and he guided me many times. He is an adventure lover and may not have left a single tourist spot in Meghalaya unexplored and he has taken initiatives many times for the entire batch in this regard (Thanks a lot Pam :)).
I wish him all the best and good luck for all his future endeavors.
