Jitesh is referred to as the Wikipedia of our batch, and quite rightfully so. He loves amassing knowledge, information, facts, trivia, and a whole lot more into his brain - and then blurts them out with casual elegance. I wonder how he manages to fit in so much stuff into his mind, how he archives all the info there, and what algorithm he uses to retrieve them with such speed, alacrity & ease!
Jitesh happens to be one of the most dynamic, outward-going, confident and lively persons in our batch. And, but of course, he's a true-blue Marketeer - he loves this domain perhaps as much as he loves quizzing. And suffice it to say, he's adroit in & passionate about both. I'm confident that he'll make his way to the very top echelons in his corporate avatar, and I'm ready to bet a fat wager to back up my claim :)
For over a year, I have believed that Jitesh is a smart, confident, witty and humorous guy who has knowledge as well as presence of mind. I still believe in all of the above (which is a miracle considering how irritating his ‘poking-fun-at-you’ sessions and ‘I-know-everything’ sessions can be), but I have learnt that he can be kind and helpful (when he is not too busy telling you that you are wrong about something or taking a dig at you :P).
He is passionate about learning about things (whatever they may be), marketing, watching tennis and cricket, playing badminton & TT as well as computer games, watching movies & TV series and hogging on food. He is obsessive about how his hard disk is organized and how the movies and TV series files are named. A gadget freak, the easiest way to mess with him is scratch one of his precious electronics items. His love for quizzing goes hand in hand with his curiosity about everything that he doesn’t already know of.
As Editor of Markathon, I have learnt that he is patient, considerate and fair. He would never take credit for something he hasn’t done, and at the same time bias and prejudice don’t exist in his dictionary (to a very large extent :P). He is a guy does an exceptional job of everything he chooses to do, be it the editorial for Markathon or a case presentation. He will go that extra mile to find out about a topic that he has to present on (and will churn trivia on the topic during the presentation), and his leadership skills are exemplary to say the least. I have absolutely no doubt that he will excel in life, and all his endeavours will bear fruit.
Since I have already praised him way too much, I think I can add that he can appear arrogant to those who don’t know him well, and he also has the tendency to get on people’s nerves now and then :P

If I have fought the most with any person in the batch, its Jitesh and needless to say, all these fights were tilted in his favour . Popularly know as "Jiki", this guy has amazing wit and presence of mind. A great quizzer. Remembers history, events, news and sports way too much in detail. You cannot possibly beat him with general knowledge. Can be a big bully. But soft at heart. Loves Hindi music and songs. One person you will always find in TT room whichever time of the day you go. Does not miss on any of the matches(cricket, tennis anything). Big foodie. Can rely take you by surprise by finishing one whole medium cheese burst with garlic bread all by himself. Leaves NO chance to mock at people and make fun of them. Can correct anyone anywhere. Reason why I always called him Provate Quelch-The Man who knew everything! All the best in whatever you do and am sure you r gonna be the best in whichever place you go! :)
Jitesh... The GYAAN Bhandar... He is a person who can talk with you on any topic and impress you by his knowledge. The 'Marketing Guru' and the 'Surprise Package' of Kopda cup. He is a great speaker and also the Quiz Master of our batch. There is a lot that can be learnt from this chap including wooing the girls ;) All the very best Jitesh !!!
jikipedia is how my beloved junior is better known as...Sometimes inspiring but sometimes he might bore u to death with the unlimited stock of trivia and knowledge that he possesses.A very hardworking guy esp in markathon activities,will definitely be accused of victimizing a lot of budding managers at iim shillong thru his pranks but at the end of the day is a great friend to be with.An avid reader,moviebuff and grt sports person too.
We share great enthusiasm for non veg food and i will always remember his sarcastic remarks at subway on my kind of low fat combinations.
Out TT Challenge still stands even after passing out :).
Jitesh Patel - i don't know what and how to tell about this guy. He is one of the most famous guys on campus. Jitesh is what you call a real MBA complete package. I look upto Jitesh all the time when it comes to his knowledge gathering activity. He is just awesome at Quizzing and he has such a sharp mind that the title ' The Man Who Knew So Much' is apt for him. Academically he is very strong and he listens to every lecture with utmost interest and provides with one of the best CPs and insights. This guy is a ultra-fast worker and he does so many things in his life, he has to keep the accelerator on his life. A brilliant sportstar and he can screw anyone with his brutal demeanor on the pitch. Jitesh is those kind of guys who excel at everything they do, still have the humbleness not to show it. Well yeah his tone of speaking can be sometimes a bit arrogant when he blurts out random facts and figures, but if you analyse his POVs on any topic, he has one of the logical minds. Down to his heart, this guy is not what it all looks on outside. He is a very genuine person and simple guy at heart. He can work with all the passion and would provide a top output. He reads a lot and I always compete with him on the Forbes issues read by me and him and I run a 4-5 issues lag as compared to him. Jitesh can be a big prankster, he has pulled off some of the hillarious pranks I can remember [the door prank in 1st year]. He can be a ruthless mocker and can pull your leg which you would end up with the huge laughter Jitesh has. He is also a big food lover and has been one of my crime partner at many food chains many a time and seriously this guy knows how to find the best food at any city. I also would thank Jitesh for the loads of Karachi biscuits he has got for me. I guess we would have more than just 2 years to be friends and well with Yes Bank, i don't see any worries in being close friends for the entire life.
I wish him a rocking and a happening future and a successful career. i wont be surprised if after 15 years this ambitious lad goes on to head one of the top companies.

Jitesh Patel...One guy I believe who deserves much more than he has gotten till now. I have known him from VIT days where we never talked but I was aware of his genius and this man was the CAT guy of our batch. People used to tell me, if there is someone joining an IIM from 2010 VIT batch, it has to be Jitesh. Well, I must say I am proud to have accompanied here.
This dude is pa packet of knowledge. He just knows almost everything and having the worst possible general knowledge, I have really admired him for his quizzing skills. Everyone knows about his marketing genius, the AWESOME AWESOME work he has done for Markathon and the Marketing Club of IIM Shillong, this guy is surely a benchmark to follow.
He is a real foodie just like anyone from Hyderabad and hogs like anything. I remember just the both of us going to BB once between one of the classes and this guy ate almost three times more than me and that too with real ease. He is known to kill people with his digs and I have been lucky enough to have not been his favourites for the same. I guess I got the VIT concession :P :P
Whats worth mentioning here is that he might seem arrogant when you first meet him, but I guess thats his style and people close to him would know that he has a gem of a heart. I personally have never found him rude ever and have always appreciated his outspokenness and logical stands on any matter. This guy listens to every lecture sitting on the very first row and never sleeps. His hunger for knowledge has inspired to him to read every damn case given to us and thats really a feat to be proud of. We both have always had this unannounced race of leaving the exam hall as early as possible. As soon as he used to leave the exam hall, it became difficult for me to stay in there and I would just rush to finish the remaining part to join him outside. The days I would come out early, I felt good to have beaten Jitesh.
We have shared a great friendship between us and am sure it would continue for many years to come. All the best Dude and am sure 15 years down the line, you would give me a chance to say that this guy who is a CEO now studied with me.
Jitesh aka Jikipeida a person who thinks he know everything and he does know. Doesn’t give a damn about what others have to say or think about him. Has a great sense of humour, razor sharp wit, exceptionally good Quizzing skills and a love for movies, food, games and of course Marketing. JITESH PATEL... My wing mate and one of my close friends in the campus. I think we must have gone to Bombay Bites at least 20 to 30 times together. He loves eating and can go and on eating. His witty comments are something everybody fears. Sala Bahut maze liya hai aur kisika bhi le sakta hai. He is a big fan of Wikipedia so much so that which ever bloody word he comes across, he searches it in wikipedia. QUIZ Master of our college.
Jitesh is very smart, outgoing and jovial. He has been my groupmate for the last two years. The qualities he displays outside might be found in many people in B-Schools. But, what may not be found is how Jitesh never tries to show off. There are things in which he would like to win, like an argument, but it never appears to be out of desperation. He might be quite loud on the outside, but that’s just a way he expresses his very solid, sincere, and serene inside.
More than how well he can speak, I admire how cool he can be. It would be hard to find someone like Jitesh again.
Hats off to this guy who can remember so many facts of this world. His knowledge is simply awesome and more awesome is his memory power. A very outgoing and outspoken person and loves to know about things and people. You can always find him near by whenever there is an opportunity for leg-pulling for anyone. The Quiz Master, also known as Jikipedia. Any day, any moment he can just start telling you facts and information about any kind of stuff and would be amazed as to how this guy knows so much. Well known for being sarcastic, humorous and witty and at the same time intelligent and sharp. Loves winning over anyone in an informal discussion and to do so, he can sometimes go to the extent of making some illogical points and satires :P
A big foodie, Hyderabadi by nature and Gujarati by blood, he also likes listening to the old hindi songs. Takes a lot of new initiatives and puts in 100% efforts to implement them and execute them successfully. Has never failed to give us surprises during both the Kopda Cups :P :)

He always has an opinion about all things and never tries to hold himself back. Have spent loads of time together watching sports in TV room. A very big foodie, though is a Gujrati, he can't live without Chicken and a big fan of Paradise's chicken biryani. :) :P
He listens to Hindi music and one helluva of confident person, u can't beat his confidence. And not to forget, has a great sense of humor. A 'bulldog' who took his team to the Kopda Cup glory :P
Epitome of confidence is the the best way i can describe him. As an ediotr of Markathon,he brought the magazine a new perspective. Loves to read and keep himself updated any thing under the sun.
Very out going, fun loving and knowledgeable( Jikipedia the batch calls him). Every one would enjoy his presence for he always creates some fun by pulling some ones leg ( Sria better knows that :p). I have shared first bench with him in Strategy class and Brand management that was seriously fun. A great lover of movies and TV Series.
With the confidence and knowledge i can visualize him as one of the most successful marketing chaps of tomorrow.

More commonly known as 'Jikipedia' or 'Jiki', he is a person who makes you wonder 'How can a guy know so much?'. Has tremendous knowledge about movies, sports, companies etc etc etc. A sports lover; a good batsman in a critical situation (Kopda'12 Finals and Kopda'11 six). If you remember Markathon, he is the first name that comes to your mind. Jitesh just loves food and has appetite that justifies his love. We should go to buffet dinner/lunch together sometime. Not to forget his huge collection about movies, TV series and 'all stuff one needs :P'. Be it any of these, he is first person U search with.
“I will get to learn a lot a from you” – First statement when we met first in campus as roommates. Everything is true about this statement but just the other way round Jitesh. It was indeed a disguised gift to be your roommate for the first year. It was fun to have discussions (sometime fights :P) on myriad of topics.
Will definitely remember you and Baba for all the Karachi Biscuits I had. Also, do let me know when the new season of Shelock Holmes is out :).

'Bull D' as he is famously called because of his association with his Junkyard Dawg owner D is the most ferocious batsman in the batch - if he hits, it stays hit :D He's the best spinner we have in our batch and it was a pleasure to captain a side that had him in it :)

The numerous chats we have had on cricket, football and tennis will always be memorable. He used to hate Ravindra Jadeja as much as i did and we had a strong connect there :D
His quizzing sessions were some of the best ones i have been to and his tribute questions were the only ones we manage to answer most times :D

Jithesh is a walking encyclopaedia. Be it any issue, he can give an opinion on it substantiated by solid facts and trivia. An amazing quizzer, I ve loved attending the quizzes which he conducts. A wonderful sportsman, he can play TT, cricket and has never TECHNICALLY lost me in shuttle in Rannbhoomi so far :D. His last ball six, exploits in Kopda finals and our Incredible premier league are some cricketing moments that I ll cherish forever. An awesome marketer, his stint as editor of markathon is a testimony to that. A biriyani lover, I m still awaiting he Hyderabad trip to have the best biriyanis :D. He can take up peoples case with consummate ease and it was fun seeing him pull Hemanth’s and Jayant’s legs. He always has the last say in any argument which no one can refute. And undoubtedly, he has in him all the skills to become a true marketer. Everyone knows about his marketing genius, the AWESOME AWESOME work he has done for Markathon and the Marketing Club of IIM Shillong, this guy is surely a benchmark to follow.
He is a real foodie just like anyone from Hyderabad and hogs like anything. I remember just the both of us going to BB once between one of the classes and this guy ate almost three times more than me and that too with real ease. He is known to kill people with his digs and I have been lucky enough to have not been his favourites for the same. I guess I got the VIT concession :P :P
Whats worth mentioning here is that he might seem arrogant when you first meet him, but I guess thats his style and people close to him would know that he has a gem of a heart. I personally have never found him rude ever and have always appreciated his outspokenness and logical stands on any matter. This guy listens to every lecture sitting on the very first row and never sleeps. His hunger for knowledge has inspired to him to read every damn case given to us and thats really a feat to be proud of. We both have always had this unannounced race of leaving the exam hall as early as possible. As soon as he used to leave the exam hall, it became difficult for me to stay in there and I would just rush to finish the remaining part to join him outside. The days I would come out early, I felt good to have beaten Jitesh.
We have shared a great friendship between us and am sure it would continue for many years to come. All the best Dude and am sure 15 years down the line, you would give me a chance to say that this guy who is a CEO now studied with me.
Jitesh aka Jikipeida a person who thinks he know everything and he does know. Doesn’t give a damn about what others have to say or think about him. Has a great sense of humour, razor sharp wit, exceptionally good Quizzing skills and a love for movies, food, games and of course Marketing. Also known as Kotler of the batch he has done justice to the post of Editor of Markathon that he has held.

ReplyDeleteJITESH PATEL... My wing mate and one of my close friends in the campus. I think we must have gone to Bombay Bites at least 20 to 30 times together. He loves eating and can go and on eating. His witty comments are something everybody fears. Sala Bahut maze liya hai aur kisika bhi le sakta hai. He is a big fan of Wikipedia so much so that which ever bloody word he comes across, he searches it in wikipedia. QUIZ Master of our college.

Jitesh is very smart, outgoing and jovial. He has been my groupmate for the last two years. The qualities he displays outside might be found in many people in B-Schools. But, what may not be found is how Jitesh never tries to show off. There are things in which he would like to win, like an argument, but it never appears to be out of desperation. He might be quite loud on the outside, but that’s just a way he expresses his very solid, sincere, and serene inside.

Hats off to this guy who can remember so many facts of this world. His knowledge is simply awesome and more awesome is his memory power. Any day, any moment he can just start telling you facts and information about any kind of stuff and would be amazed as to how this guy knows so much. Well known for being sarcastic, humorous and witty and at the same time intelligent and sharp. Loves winning over anyone in an informal discussion and to do so, he can sometimes go to the extent of making some illogical points and satires :P
ReplyDeleteA big foodie, Hyderabadi by nature and Gujarati by blood, he also likes listening to the old hindi songs. Takes a lot of new initiatives and puts in 100% efforts to implement them and execute them successfully. Has never failed to give us surprises during both the Kopda Cups :P :)

Jitesh for me is all about wit and presence of mind. He knows almost everything in the world and is a great Quizmaster. More famous for his sarcastic humors and satires but it gets difficult to defend when your at the receiving end.
ReplyDeleteHe always has an opinion about all things and never tries to hold himself back. Have spent loads of time together watching sports in TV room. A very big foodie, though is a Gujrati, he can't live without Chicken and a big fan of Paradise's chicken biryani. :) :P
He listens to Hindi music and one helluva of confident person, u can't beat his confidence. And not to forget, has a great sense of humor. A 'bulldog' who took his team to the Kopda Cup glory :P

Every one would enjoy his presence for he always creates some fun by pulling some ones leg ( Sria better knows that :p). I have shared first bench with him in Strategy class and Brand management that was seriously fun. A great lover of movies and TV Series.
With the confidence and knowledge i can visualize him as one of the most successful marketing chaps of tomorrow.

ReplyDelete“I will get to learn a lot a from you” – First statement when we met first in campus as roommates. Everything is true about this statement but just the other way round Jitesh. It was indeed a disguised gift to be your roommate for the first year. It was fun to have discussions (sometime fights :P) on myriad of topics.
Will definitely remember you and Baba for all the Karachi Biscuits I had. Also, do let me know when the new season of Shelock Holmes is out :).
There is much more to write but…I guess we can have an offline discussion for that ;-) You can beat the shit out of anyone, but just do that in limits and you will reach the heights…

Jitesh is a person who cracks the best jokes and the way he wins any argument is a treat to watch - he will scare the shit out of his opponents :D
ReplyDelete'Bull D' as he is famously called because of his association with his Junkyard Dawg owner D is the most ferocious batsman in the batch - if he hits, it stays hit :D He's the best spinner we have in our batch and it was a pleasure to captain a side that had him in it :)
As the editor of Markathon, he has done an amazing job - he got interviews from top-notch people for almost every edition :)
The numerous chats we have had on cricket, football and tennis will always be memorable. He used to hate Ravindra Jadeja as much as i did and we had a strong connect there :D
His quizzing sessions were some of the best ones i have been to and his tribute questions were the only ones we manage to answer most times :D

Jithesh is a walking encyclopaedia. Be it any issue, he can give an opinion on it substantiated by solid facts and trivia. An amazing quizzer, I ve loved attending the quizzes which he conducts. A wonderful sportsman, he can play TT, cricket and has never TECHNICALLY lost me in shuttle in Rannbhoomi so far :D. His last ball six, exploits in Kopda finals and our Incredible premier league are some cricketing moments that I ll cherish forever. An awesome marketer, his stint as editor of markathon is a testimony to that. A biriyani lover, I m still awaiting he Hyderabad trip to have the best biriyanis :D. He can take up peoples case with consummate ease and it was fun seeing him pull Hemanth’s and Jayant’s legs. He always has the last say in any argument which no one can refute. It was nice knowing you dude. Hope you have an awesome career ahead of you :)

And undoubtedly, he has in him all the skills to become a true marketer. Convincing anyone regarding his opinion wouldn’t take a lot of time :) His wit and humour make our conversations very interesting and enjoyable :) We have had a lot of silly arguments just for fun! A true Hyderabadi… loves the Hyderabadi Biryani (I guess the treat at Paradise I was to give you is still pending :P) He’s great at sports too… responsible for major turnarounds in the matches of Kopda, last year and this year. (And the justice you have done to the name Vani has given you by being part of the Junkyard Dawgs team… You just had to win the tournament this time!! :P) He’s a very nice and kind person… keeps in mind the wishes and comfort of everyone… got to know more of this in our journeys to and from Hyd ;)
