A complicated person, full of idles and principles of doing things at fixed time in fixed duration. Yes there is a fixed time allotted for ‘each and every’ activity in his life. He completes a 2 hr movie in 30mins. Well, met him the very 1st day on campus when he came to meet Shubhi, but our friendship started in September and I hope it continues forever. His calls and chats used to start with ‘haanji’ and end with ‘aap na apna khayal rakhna’. Addressed by Prabhu, Lord, Haddi Raja, 3G Zoo zoo and timer, he never minds it. He is a person who would comment on you, compliment you and really make you feel good. He relishes all the funs of life in his room. He is a person who knows me in and out. He is a very understanding, hardworking, innocent, loving and caring friend who likes gossiping, eating, watching movies and reading a lot. He is a person who aims for perfection and values and respects his family more than anything else. He is one of those few people who want to be different. Well, I have spent the most wonderful and memorable moments of my life with him in Shillong and Gurgaon. He has been always been supportive during my bad times. I have learnt lots of lessons in life from him. He is really awesome Gaurav who made me smile when I cried, who entertained me when I was bored, and who motivated me when I was depressed. Thanks dear for being there always. Wish you achieve the zenith of glory and whatever you aspire for. Apna khayal rakhna aap.
The true Thakur of IIMS, loud and fearless. Sounds quite serious and scary, but no! The other side of him is completely different, very polite with eyes so innocent that you will never feel the warmth of the fire burning inside him :) A sobre guy who likes keeping to himself inside his room and keeps chatting and watching movies all day long. He reads a lot and tests your GK skills whenever he gets a chance. The "haanjis" and "Appy Dhappy Kraapy" are really sweet. But yes, his mood swings like the pendulum of those huge Grandfather clocks! Nevertheless, a great friend and another bhaai of mine, he is passionate about what he does and I am sure he will definitely achieve whatever he wants in life :) Keep smiling always as you know very well that "YOU ARE THE BEST" aur aap to hamesha hi kitne handsome lagte ho!
If the entire universe loses track of time, perhaps only one person can help us all and lead us - our Gaurav aka Our Lord-the savior aka timer aka Haddi, because that much particular and conscious he is, regarding the value and importance of TIME. As a metaphor to his famous bonding with time, even if he is locked inside a dark room, his inner "circadian rhythm" would precisely determine the present time with 99.99999999999% perfection, without the help of an external device. That is the perfection of our LORD. However, one thing I found really strange about him. In-spite of belonging to a place with extremely cool weather conditions, he is probably one who is hypersensitive to cold weather (even hot weather too). His famous remark "mujhe naa 6 baje ke baad bahut Thand lagti hai... tum log jaake aao" would remind me about him forever. He is extremely hard working and does not tolerate insincerity from others to any extent. His time-table based daily routine has been a role model for us- atleast for me and Kaustubh ("COST"). In total, our Lord's behavior can be better be expressed as punctuality+ Perfection+ Zero tolerance, who believes in the philosophy:
"Never wait for time as time never waits for you."
I wish all the best and a great future to one of my dearest friends in IIMS.
Gaurav is one of those people whose demeanor is exceptionally good. Has really good handwriting and even better communication skills – he is assertive in whatever he has to say. Though he has a time bound for doing everything many a times (for the sake of friends ) he can let go off this self-imposed rule ( :P ). Sincere about studies, ambitious, cool headed but can get irked by things he hates. He hates pretentious people and can be really harsh with words when he encounters people with unwanted habits. Loves staying in his room, can give tough fight in TT matches, very chivalrous and well behaved and can certainly win others admiration by his warm greeting and nice talks. I am sure I will see you at the pinnacle of success in a short time! Good luck. Stay in touch :)
Gaurav, has an in-built timer :P he does everything according to that :P ... has a very nice handwriting.. and very assertive tone ... taught me TT ... can spend hours reading books... nice person to talk to .... Best of Luck !!!
Fellow group- F mate and a guy who stands correct to his surname- Thakur. He can made his voice heard from a very distant place also. He is punctual about his time and an avid reader. You will definitely succeed mate. Wish you a great life ahead. Keep Smiling Always :)
Dear Gaurav Though I haven't interacted too much with you but you come across as a very serious and dedicated person... On a lighter note, I like your nose because it helps me defend my long nose :P May God bless you for everything :) Keep smiling humesha :) Miss me :P
Thakur Sahab, everyone perceives him as a serious guy who is engrossed in books and studies. But there is a lot more to his charming personality that is hidden beneath this veneer of sincerity. He is a perfect mix of every essential element that you would expect from a friend. Definitely his shyness always prohibits from showcasing his talent skills. He can dance to the Bhangra tunes (much better than Manbir can) and loves singing. He is a real buddy and would go to the extreme extent to help out his friends. Not only this, he is one rare person who really acknowledges the value of time and knows the importance of relationships in one's life. Contrary to the popular notion that he too serious, I have seen cracking deadly PJs ( definitely a fatal viral infection from Kaustubh) . He has been my saviour so many times. It was him who taught me those freaking subjects that were like a nightmare for me; be it Accounting or Finance or even HR , he always remained so patient ( no pun intended ) and taught the inticacies of those complex fundas with such ease. People regard him as someone who is so mysterious but I think he is like an open book and does not hide his emotions. This blue-eyed boy is yet to realize the glory, he is worth and it was a pleasure for me to have met such a nice guy. The level of understanding that he has got is unparalled amongst any one of us. I shall never forget those times when the two of us used to sit for the competitions and contemplate at the glaring problems; it was so much so fun filled.
Thakur Sahab, I know that its only a matter of time when everyone shall be dazzled by your shine. Never let that smile go away from your face.
Having hardly spoken to him in the first year, spending time with him during the summer was a very interesting experience to say the least. With Neha and Ashutosh taking his case at all times possible, I got a peek into the idiosyncrasies of Thakur/Haddi Raja. He used to bear all jokes about his punctuality, timetable and fixed method of doing stuff with just a flare of his nostril and gets very caring when someone is even slightly unwell. But I saw the professional side of him soon after during out fin assignments and understood the advantage of the schedules :) All the very best in your chosen field Gaurav!
Gaurav Thakur (Haddi Raja, later graduated to Lord Haddy or simply Lord :P), was one of my first friends here, still remember that night of July 2010, when I, Rohit & Mayur were solving Kellog's case study for footsteps and went to sleep after the twilight of the morning.. That was the first time, I got the taste of his sincerity (how he managed to wake that late is still a mystery though :P). Thereafter, our contrasting nature turned in to friendship, with myself (called as Jhaad) being at the receiving end of other friends' taunts due to the extra politeness that this man somehow possessed :). Nothing more to say about his brain's synchronization with the atomic clocks & occasional lethal PJs, it will be mere repetition of the facts. But, once again, I would like to thank you from the core of my heart/brain for pushing me to sit for the company, god only knows what would have happened otherwise.
All the best for your future.. 'apna khayal rakhna' :) :)
Gaurav Thakur.. My roommate in first year. I knew in the initial week itself that no matter what this man is not going to sleep after 7 am. I don't think that he has broken this even till today.
Very brave personality. When he has his opinion towards anything he makes sure that it is communicated across. Yaaron ka yaar. I can't think the possible existence of Aji and kaustubh in the campus without you.
I remember the first official introduction session of PGP 10 batch in Audi and when this guy gave his introduction, it was indeed unique! Superb confidence in the voice and a great amount of pride while describing his native place, I indeed liked it the most.. Though I could not see who it was, but very soon I came to know..
Both of us being the ones to go to mess early, I have had a wonderful company of yours and Aji Lal, needless to say..
Your confidence would surely take you to heights… Wish you all the best for future!
Gaurav… apt for 3G… Faster… Smarter… Better… (with a little more emphasis on faster :P) He is very punctual and disciplined, fast at doing things, yet very patient!! He’s always there for his friends. He is very friendly, caring, soft-spoken and innocent. He is a sincere and dedicated worker, and very efficient at his work. He speaks very sweetly always supporting and encouraging people, and cracks a few occasional jokes… :) All in all, a great friend to have! We all have spent many memorable moments in Gurgaon during internship. Wish you good luck in all your future endeavours! Keep smiling… :)
