One of the prettiest girls in our batch, I am sure teri smile pe bahut log fida hain (me included :)). I hope all HRs in companies are like you and seeing your diligence and dedication to Hostel Committee, I have always respected you. No matter what people say, and how bad life gets, I have seen you smile the drudgeries away. Pooja is a mix of child-like simplicity and motherly concern, and I have always loved the way she deals with things- be it Harish’s compliments or someone’s rant about mess food. You are an amazing person, and I wish you the best in life!
Some people hit a chord the very first time you meet..and Pooja is one of them. The most graceful person I have known. Her appetite for fun, laughter and surprising controversies never end. A true scorpion …she is deceptively intelligent and no wonder has a huge fan list. Loves eating out..she gets along so well with people and shares their concerns…well she had to be an HR. Still remember the first time we went out for the Police Station Huh :) Always remember people are happy because you are happy…stay the way you are !! Wish you all the success in life !
Pooja or 'Tai' as I fondly call her (due to the reasons better left unsaid at this forum :P) was one of the first friends of mine here at Shillong. The image I'll carry of her is the confused, tense hostel committee member always worried about some problem and her desperate attempts to tease me. And then her graceful smile, that has been talked before a lot :) All the best for your bright HR future.
Before writing anything here, I think it is necessary to have the disclaimer that this forum is not at all enough for me to write about her. I could write a book on her and our friendship. But still I would try my best to put my thoughts in the best way possible.
Pooja or whatever you would like to call her...She wouldn't mind has been the best thing that happened to me at IIM Shillong. I cant imagine the past two years without her. I guess I would not have been the same if not for her. Following are the various ways in which I can relate with her:
1. POOJA - THE FRIEND: She is my best friend here. And not only to me, this girl has been the bestest of friends to many many people. For me, she was the one who I can talk for hours, tell anything under the sun, discuss any kind of problem (even if I dont get a solution :P )get scolded, tell all my secrets, shout at and most of all be what I am. She has been the there for me every time I needed an ear to hear or a shoulder for support. You cannot ask for more if you have a friend like her. Thats for sure.
2. POOJA - THE SISTER: Well...I have had two advantages here. With her around, I had both, an elder sister's care and a younger sister's love. She has been the most caring person to me and has been worried about me every time anything happened to me (which is a quite a lot of times) and she has scolded me the most everytime I have been even thinking about something bad...forget doing anything bad because she wouldn't let me. At the same time, she also gave me a lot of chances (And again..I really mean A LOT) to act as the one who would put her actions and thoughts on the right track.
3. POOJA - THE HR: This is my favourite part because here I get to tell the story of how this madam selected to choose HR for her career. She had very well made up her mind before joining IIM Shillong about doign a Finance major, crack stupid number problems, clear the impossible CFA levels, work in some Hi-Fi bank and all. Well she HAD MADE UP HER MIND. But like always, slowly the confusion poured in. And she hovered around every damn option available to an IIM Grad starting from Fin to IT to Ops to Marketing to Strategy and finally landing up into HR. Well I have a special thanks to God for making her mind up into HR for several reasons. Firstly, she is too good for it. Tat Motors is really lucky and I am serious about it. Secondly, over the two years I have known her very well and I am so damn sure, even after three four attempts, CFA nahin nikaal paati ladki :P :P. Thirdly, she is not made for Fin/IT etc. And the most important reason, studying HR and HR Club would have been totally boring without Pooja :) :) I am so damn sure you would become a great HR. Nothing unusual though, everybody knows it.
4. POOJA - THE STUDENT: Not much to say here. She was a topper throughout her life before she joined IBM. Without going into details of what actually happened in two years, the outcome was evident at IIM Shillong. She is a pathetic student. No concentration, no interest in most of the subjects. But still, expert at Bakar and since thats what counts when you are studying at IIMS, undoubtedly, she performed decently :) :) And needless to say, she had me as the teacher at every stage she needed guidance :P :P
5. POOJA - THE FEMINIST: Talk to her regarding any biasness towards men or even the slightest of unfairness towards the fairer sex, you are bound to get her angry. She according to me is the true leader or "NAARI MUKTI MORCHA" and this is one topic where I have always avoided to go against her.
6. POOJA - THE BHULAKKAD: She is the Aamir Khan of Ghazini. And am not joking. She comes and tells me that she is going out and after exactly 2 mins when I ask her where exactly is she going and she asks me "How do you know I am going out" Now you might say thats normal, it happens...but this girl argues with me after that for five mins that she hadn't told me. And this isn't just one off case. Day doesn't go off without her forgetting the most trivial of things every now and then.
7. POOJA - THE HOSCOMM member: She was one of the very few people in my first year in whom I saw the passion of entering into the hostel committee. And the zeal with which this girl has done all the work in two years is not just commendable. I have seen her closely getting over involved with the smallest of things and caring for everything as if it were her own house. I just feel so much more respect for her when I see her in that avatar. Well, the excellent work by her during the admission of juniors made her the favourite of all parents and earned her the coveted title of PGP'11 ki 'DIDI' :P
8. POOJA - THE BEAUTIFUL: This is something I do not need to tell. She is one of the most good looking girls of our batch and if not her profile pics, the endless list of her fans is definitely a testimony to it. :)
9. POOJA - THE FOODIE: I dont know how I missed it first. Well, it deserved a much higher rank for sure for it describes her more than half of what she is. Her life is only food. She knows cities only by food. Her perception about whether a city is good or bad is dependent on the food available there. She is bound to become the future brand ambassador of KFC am sure. I still remember getting "EVERYTHING" packed for her from KFC after winning Ashwamedha :)
10. POOJA - THE KID: This is the most dominant mode of her I must say. This is the part where she acts totally kiddish on things, wanting things which she knows are only available in Delhi at a particular shop, passing a comment in full loud voice after there is complete silence or for that matter, fighting with Deepa over petty issues :)
No matter how much I write over here, these words of mine will never be able to express what she is and the respect, love, gratitude and admiration I have for her. I shall definitely keep posting more and more in time to come when I think of other things about you. But as of now, to sum it up, "Thank you for being there, it would not have been possible to sustain without you" :) :) Lots of love...God Bless u :) Thank you for everything :)
Pooja is one of the nicest girls I have met. very calm and composed, and full of energy all the time. She kind of defines what an HR person should be like. never shying away from soo much work in the hostel committee. she is an wonderful person as well. It was great knowing you. Keep Rocking!!
Pooja is one of the most sensible, matured and the most genuine girl of the batch. I like her for her honesty and the simplicity of her nature. A girl with a heart of gold and hence its shine reflects in whatever things she does. I feel that those who are close to her are extremely lucky as she is one of those very few people who can do anything for a friend. A passionate HR enthusiast and a dedicated hostel committee member.
Though we haven’t interacted much but from whatever small talks we have had, it was my pleasure to know a gem of a person like you. Be the way you are and keep that smile of yours always on your face. All the best for future!
Pooja is one of the prettiest lady of our batch and among the girls I have came across. A pucca Delhite can be reflected in the way she acts and speaks. A confused Hostel Comm Member who easily gets nervous whenever under some tricky situation. Apart from this I have known as a person who is a true friend of friends and very simple in nature. You can easily initiate a talk with her and she will reply with equal charm. Her love for food can be witnessed very easily. One of the nicest person to come across. Wish you great success ahead. Keep Smiling Always :)
One of the best looking girls in our batch, pooja has been the only person who could take all the compliments given by Harish with a smile.. I love her attitude when it comes to dealing with people.. a caring Hosscommer who goes out of her way to solve your problems.. a great dancer and a foodie who loves her KFC.. her calm and composed demeanour when handling with serious issues while at the same time her enthusiasm and energy while having fun.. this woman knows what she wants in life.. A true blood HR.. I am sure success will be yours in all that you do… All the best Pooja :) :) God Bless!
Pooja...I think all credit goes to her for good chicken in d mess as she loves chicken like anything and can eat chicken day in day out. Apart from her love for food she is a wonderful person except she gets mischievous very fast but she is very caring person and has helped me a lot in one thing i.e. SUPW, which i should have learnt in school days :P
She is fun loving and no can get bored in her company..She always promises to do many things but unfortunately little slow in implementation :P.. She has done a wonderful job being the editor of usHR..keep up d good work.
It was fun teasing your B.Tech course as Distance Learning course :) It was great knowing you and being your friend. Hope you get whatever you dream of. All d best
One of the most vibrant personalities of our batch, she’s been a very good friend of mine here in Shillong. I’m glad I got to know her so well because of being in the same study group. She’s always the dedicated one in our group who’s asking everyone to do the things on time and I doubt if we’d have functioned as efficiently as a group if not for her. She is very jovial and always has a smile on her face, I doubt if anyone else would’ve been able to take the number of times I’ve argued with her and she still managed to laugh it off. She has this love for food and KFC Zinger is a common delight that we both enjoy. She’s dedicated herself to the field of HR and I’m very glad she achieved the dream of launching an HR magazine which meant a lot of things for the Club as well as IIM Shillong. A tireless crusader for the Hostel Committee , she brushes away all the jibes everyone makes about the mess food and works her heart out. A never say die spirit ensures that she is never bogged down and always ready to take up challenges. I am sure the future holds lots of great things in store for her. Cheers! P.S : I did not mention anything about Sikkim Manipal!
Never ever have I seen that smile fade away from her face, even in the most difficult of times...she has never ever shied away from responsibility and your one line “We try to make home away from home” will be repeated every time the committee is introduced and I know that you have worked hard to make this statement a reality. She is definitely one of the most sporting members of the batch and the perfect HR ,employees could ask for...keep smiling and keep on enjoying the life and success will be all yours...
Miss Congeniality, proud owner of a fab wardrobe, her fashion sense is unmatched in our batch, carries off herself confidently through patches both rough and not so rough. She can be seen running to the mess workers instructing them about the food every now and then. One of the few HR enthusiast of our batch she has been instrumental in conceptualization and release of usHR the HR bimonthly. Fun loving, cheerful, full of life she will be a great HR manager. It was a pleasure having known you! Good luck for the future :)
I knew Pooja right from 2004 in Sikkim Manipal but did not had the chance to interact though. In the last two years I have come to know a lot about Pooja. She is one who does not do things to impress the world. She does what she likes and doesn’t care what people think. An extremely popular personality in both the batches.
She is a great foodie and a chicken lover. I am still confused about the million rules that regulate her consumption of chicken. I remember the numerous occasions where her Zinger had to wait till midnight so that the sanctity of the million rules were maintained.
I saw many people get into Clubs , Committees and take up specializations which would look good in their CVs. But Pooja made a conscious choice in all the three. She has been great in the Hostel Committee owning all responsibilities for any kind of problems that have cropped up. This is the reason why people in PGP 11 knew only Pooja’s name in the Hostel Committee inductions (or there might be other reasons I am not sure).
She has a world of her own, which runs by rules that she thinks is right and is completely in conflict with what happens in the real world. It has been great to be friends with a person of such innocence and who cares so much about her position of responsibilities.
Pooja. Girl who can handle things too well-be it people complaining about mess food or any other problem. But can't handle her own life that well. :P Someone who had her preferences way too right in place-be it HR or hostel comm or guys. ;) Big foodie. Loves chicken. Awesome dressing sense. Can pull off whatever she wears. Can go really out of the way to help every1. Anytime I needed someone from the batch for any cultcomm work, she way always dr. And I cant stop but mention the deepest darkest secrets we've shared on the terrace and done star gazing till wee hours of the morning. Cant ever forget those times. You are an awesome person. Though our plans of being in the same city could'nt materialize, but am sure we'll be in touch. Stay the same. Never let the smile fade. :)
Pooja Batheja !! hmmmm. She happened to be in the same PDP group in the first year as me. I came to know that she is from Delhi and having spend quite a time in Delhi I had the notion that she must be just another of those Delhite girls who are so haughty, arrogant, insolent and are high-headed. This being the reason I barely used to speak to her and always tried to avoid her. Then I happen to be inducted along with her, in the hostel comm and I realized how different she was from what I thought her to be. She happened to be so considerate and caring, much unlike the way I had stereotyped her as. The multitude of talents that she has got is impressive and makes her a perfect HR material. The level of patience she has got is yet another remarkable thing about her. Infinite times I ould criticize the HR people and their subjects but all she would react back is give back a smile and I am not left with any other option but call it a truce. She is a responsible Hostel Comm. member and its quite evident from this fact that the whole PGP-11 batch knows whom to approach when in trouble? Definitely her. But at times I fear her when I see her coming from the other end of the corridor, shouting aloud that there are no spoons left in the mess or any other similar issue. Well quite a trivial matter for the Hostel Comm members but her demeanour in such case, at times is terrifying. Definitely, her way of handling issues is quite graceful and I must say that without her endeavours, it would have been almost impossible for fellow Hostel Comm. members to work. Now a days, it is a buzz that Hostel Comm is much alike Congress Party where I play the part of P.M., Manmohan Singh and it under the instructions of Sonia Gandhi (Pooja) that the real show is being run. Well Madam jee, always at your beck and call and wish you all the best. :)
Another gem of a person of our batch from the coolest committee.
Have pulled her leg on numerous occasions directly or indirectly but she has always taken it in right spirit (my guess :P). I guess she is by far the biggest KFC fan of our college.
I am sure you would add more value to the field of HR and perhaps make it more relevant from being a mere “event management” unit of any firm.
So much has been written about Pooja already and I was left wondering what else I could add to complete the testimonial of this extremely diverse personality. Was putting it off until the end, trying to remember the million things that have occurred in the last two years and the zillion secrets we have shared..But unfortunately, I cannot put it off any longer… so here goes…
I first met Pooja at Nirulas for our tete-e-tete at Delhi and not once did the thought cross my mind that this girl would come to mean so much to me.. We spoke once on the phone before we came to Shillong and the only thought that came to my mind then was ki ajeeb ladki hai… 2 saal work-ex hone ke baad bhi chhoti chhoti cheezein mujhse pooch rhi hai :P :P :P I didn't know until then the impact of those two years of IBM on Pooja…
After I reached Shillong, she was the only person I recognised at the time of registration. We were the only two who went to the formal dinner without a business suit (me, for I dint have a choice, and she, coz well.. she had to be different from others :P) Uske baad another dhamaka happened.. Madam lost the keys of her cupboard when her wallet was stolen/ dropped at PB and her laptop was nicely locked inside it.. Awesome timing that it was, we had to submit the student council assignment the next day! I can never forget her pleads to seniors or the way she managed to submit her assignment in time.. Itni sincerity to kabhi baad mein dekhne ka mauka hi nahi mila :P
The rest as they say is history.. Our friendship started then, and I became a regular visitor of their room. It even turned into a 3 seater for a while, when my room was infested with nasty rodents and hostel comm had to obviously fulfil their responsibility and provide me with a nice, clean place to spend the night :P
Coming to her talents, well, it would simply be sufficient to say that she is extremely multifaceted and I have been fortunate enough to see her in all possible avtars possible.. the happiest of states, the sadest of times, times when she has been so angry that she would have destroyed anything that was given in her hands, times when she was confused to the extent that it would drive her crazy (eg. When she chose her career specialisation), instances when she would be so excited that her antics would be absolutely uncontrollable, times when she was so hungry that she would eat anything n everything and even times where she would be the pillar of unconditional love and support…..
Pooja has truly been the backbone of usHR. I have probably never told her this, but the fact remains that without her enthusiasm and dedication, we would not have been able to achieve all that we did. Her job as the coordinator of the club has not merely been that of coordinating…Rather, she has been the driving force behind the little effort that we have put in. And I’m so glad that with TogetHR, she got to see the success which she always desired…
Coming to her love for food… chicken has always been the love of her life! I’m sure that she would survive without anyone or anything in this world, as long as she has chicken for her :P :P O.k. I agree, it’s a bit far-fetched, but then nothing can come between u n chicken :P And ya… how can I forget the momos and the super teekhi red chutney.. Ro degi, chillaegi, but chutney khana nahi chhodegi!!!
All in all, Pooja is as vivacious as a girl can be! She is a perfect example of beauty with brains (bas vo thodi bhoolne ki bimari hai but treatment chal rha hai… she has reduced her intake of badam-kaju :P). An absolute stunner when it comes to thinking of ideas for pulling someone’s leg… and the only one I know who can come out with superb (double-meaning) one-liners on the spur of the moment :P
On a serious note however, I would just say that there can be no one in this world like Pooja and I can’t imagine my life without her anymore. I am so proud to be able to call you my best friend :) :)
Pooja!! You will always see her with a smile on her face; a jolly good person. Pooja is one of the most sensible and matured persons. She won’t fake things and believes in whatever she does. Pooja is a big time foodie who loves chicken a lot and someone with awesome dressing sense.
She is a fun to hang out with; an intelligent person with HR in his blood. Though we had known each other since the registration day but dint get to interact much but would have loved to. :-)
Stay the same Pooja and always keep that smile on your face come what may.
Pooja - one of the boldest girls I have ever seen - she can talk anything infront of anyone. She is a very sporty girl and a very good thing in her is that she can take responsibilities and care about them - Hostel Committee for example. I remember complaining to her about the crappy Menu on Mess and she would retort back with the mentality of veg people. She is also a very genuine person by heart and would never think twice while speaking her heart - one quality which I praise. She is a big time foodie and like me she is passionate about various Chicken dishes while she hates eggs.
Pooja can be a very funny person and yeah as Neetisha has told her pranks can be lethal. Her one-liners are truly witty and yeah you won't like to be on the other side of her lines. She is truly a happy-go-lucky person who doesn't care about what happens in academics or anything related to this. She has a love for some Romanov & White Mischief apart from all the love for 'Happiness(you know who)'. She is a very friendly person and you can have good interesting interactions with her where she would talk incessantly and you just have to praise how can she talk so much! I remember her when I saw her as the first person on campus, next I guess we talked when she was the CEO of our Kopda cup season-1. Pooja is a very jolly person and I hope she stays like this even if she doesn't stay near Delhi. Wish you a very successful career and achieve the best in your life!!
Pooooo....Whenever I call her by ths name she immediately screams nooooo :P My next room in-mate during year -1 and wingmate in year-2 ..So there were more than enough opportunities to interact with each other.. She often gives this wierd 'Hey look, I am confused' looks, but behind this veil is a smart and hardworking Pooja..her dedication to Hostel Comm is second to none.. Handling the mess people needs a lot of patience and she has been pulling it off successfully the last 2 years.. Loves to party and goes crazy during dance parties :) Always a helping hand in the cultcomm events... I know your contribution to HR is gonna be substantial cos u r not only very logical in your approach but also an out n out people's person... Stay (with) HAPPY :P :) :)
Pooja ... one of the prettiest gals in our batch ...everything is nice about her.. her smile .. her cuteness... her dresses.. the funny way she walks.. the funnier way she runs.. even the silver strands of hair here and there .. everything about pooja jus takes ur breath away .. she is tat kind of a gal .. one gal who can make everyone's heart skip a beat...
I don think i ve complimented anybody as frequently as i ve complimented Pooja :) not only is she always smiling and laughing but spreads the joy all around... she comes like a rush of fresh air and leaves all of us still wanting more oxygen …
For the gal whom the flowers keep blossoming for .. for that gal for whom the sun rises everyday … for the gal who’s given us millions of heart stopping moments .. wish u all the beautiful things in the world .. jus for uuuu :)
My first introduction of Pooja was as my roommate. My second introduction of her was that of “a bechari” –a girl in a pathetic state who had lost her wallet second day in Shillong and had no laptop for Footsteps assignment. And that was when for the first time I saw the survivor instinct her witnessing how she worked on the assignment with borrowed laptops, working on them while their owners were sleeping/taking break and without a single second of sleep at night finished it off on time(around 8 am).
Well, over past two years I have seen many facets of her personality. Responsible and enthusiastic Pooja who has worked a lot both for the hostel committee and ushr. Or be it her confused state while deciding her specialization to that of a fighter struggling with PGP to get all HR subjects possible in 2nd year. She is a big foodie and her love for chicken especially KFC Zinger is well known to all.
A very caring and a loving person I have been lucky enough to be associated with her in so many ways. “Pooja- my roommate”: she is the best roommate that one could ask her. A very adjusting and understanding girl she was always there for me, even doing the hardest task in the world i.e. waking me up in the morning and she continues to do it till date. “Pooja – my friend”: someone who is always there for you and understands you. She has always helped me guided me in both toughest of things to most stupid things. Also there is this motherly side of character also. Many times her actions have that motherly affection in them, especially her act of “meetah khaa ke jao” before going out for interviews.
She is an elegant and charming lady who would soon be seen in the city of her dreams-Mumbai. When it comes to HR she is a sure shot winner! ATB……..hope to see u very soon on several campuses recruiting people(ur dream profile)!!!!!!!!!
Nothing more can be said after what Mayur has said in his write-up and hence I am falling short of words and ideas.
Pooja has been one of those persons with whom I have interacted the most during my stay at IIM Shillong. She was the one who used to bring the (necessary) humour in our group (referred as 'family' by most). A very kind, gentle and cheerful person who has the persona to impress anyone.
An avid food (read Chicken) lover, Pooja managed to get into the right committee. Her commitment and sharing of responsibility as a Hoss comm member is unparalleled. She will always be there to interact with warden, mess contractor and other support staffs. Her passion for chicken is so much that she can have that in her every meal (except for few days: Tuesday, Thursday etc..).
Though the initial interaction with Pooja may led you conclude that she is a kid from heart, but is more mature and many others. Her argument with Deepa over everything is quite entertaining (sometimes irritating also). Other te other hand, her level of caring shown to the fellow participants had made her get the name as "PGP11 ki didi (except for a few)". I still remember how she was always present to help during anyone's illnes during or after footsteps.
I think I am the one who has troubled Pooja the most with my idealistic fundas. And every time she used to swallow her anger on me (may be because of my age or respect for me (if any)). This has helped her becoming more patient :). The three pillars (legs) of tripod (Pooja, neetisha and Mayur) are the reason why my stay was IIM became truely memorable.
Whatever be the case, stay the same as you are now. Don't let the misiries of Tata Motors take over your Never say Dies spirit. God bless you.
Pooja, one of the person who adds fun element to all our conversations with her funny expressions and remarks :P …… Her ‘tu-tu main-main’ with her roommate Deepa is surely something which u will not like to miss :P She will not think twice before speaking her heart… her one liners would come at that time in class when everyone used to be quite … and those one liners are powerful enough to make the whole class laugh out loud ... :) No patience at all, at least not enough to finish a movie in one go :P I don’t know how many times she thought of going to gym… But till now, I have not seen her going even single day!!!.... Also, I remember her statement one day before her Tata Motors interview “Ek bar bas placement ho jane de, fir toh roz gym jaya karungi!!!” … Woh ‘roz’ abhi tak toh nai aya !! :P Very good taste in shopping … but equally bad choice in something else… :P She is such a diverse personality that each incident can depict different trait of her personality, but really the fact remains that she is one of the best person I have met in this college….. always there for her friends, she will give you really good advices and help u out in every possible way… And yes, equally dedicated towards her work … I have seen her working diligently for usHR and hostel comm…. Hope you find success in whatever u do.. :) ( Baki toh Mayur ne itne ache se explain kar hi diya hai whatever I will write, it will appear as a subpart of that only !!! …. So I will stop here and +1 to Mayur’s write up from my side :))
To write a testimonial about Pooja is probably both the easiest and the toughest things to do. Easy because she is so full of colors, emotions and life, hence, we are never left to search for words while writing for her. Quite evident if you see Mayur's post on her. :P Tough because words probably can never do justice to her persona, howsoever hard we may try.
Throughout my 2 years in Shillong, she is probably the only person whose legs I have been able to pull consistently. :P Heck! I have probably even pulled her hairs too :P She shudders even at the thought of someone tickling her. If we ever wanted to tease her, we just posed and she used to start jumping and hopping madly :P
I do not know how she is able to capture even the faintest hint of vibration of legs by a person sitting at the opposite end of the class. I am pretty sure she has some extraordinary powers because no person on this earth can manage that. Probably she is from Venus :P
Her relationship with Deepa is very well documented. See Deepa's blog for more details. It can best be summarized here with the statement that she plans to take Deepa for her dowry. God! Have some mercy!
One thing she has in abundance is elegance. Its evident from the way she dresses and the way she speaks. On the podium, when she stands and speaks, the words come out as if its a beautiful cascading waterfall. The audience sits and listens.
But the part which I like about her most is her inherent caring nature. You sense in her, if not a rare truth, a rare heart. Be always like this Pooja because you are precious for the way you are :) All the best!
"Dynamite of a girl"... yes she is. You can't get unaffected by her smile if she is around. Typical 'Dilli vaali'... Koi tension nahi... Very charming person...
ReplyDeleteSome people hit a chord the very first time you meet..and Pooja is one of them.
ReplyDeletePooja or 'Tai' as I fondly call her (due to the reasons better left unsaid at this forum :P) was one of the first friends of mine here at Shillong. The image I'll carry of her is the confused, tense hostel committee member always worried about some problem and her desperate attempts to tease me. And then her graceful smile, that has been talked before a lot :) All the best for your bright HR future.
ReplyDeleteBefore writing anything here, I think it is necessary to have the
ReplyDeletedisclaimer that this forum is not at all enough for me to write about
her. I could write a book on her and our friendship. But still I would
try my best to put my thoughts in the best way possible.
Pooja or whatever you would like to call her...She wouldn't mind has been
the best thing that happened to me at IIM Shillong. I cant imagine the
past two years without her. I guess I would not have been the same if not
for her. Following are the various ways in which I can relate with her:
1. POOJA - THE FRIEND: She is my best friend here. And not only to me,
this girl has been the bestest of friends to many many people. For me,
she was the one who I can talk for hours, tell anything under the sun,
discuss any kind of problem (even if I dont get a solution :P )get
scolded, tell all my secrets, shout at and most of all be what I am. She
has been the there for me every time I needed an ear to hear or a
shoulder for support. You cannot ask for more if you have a friend like
her. Thats for sure.
2. POOJA - THE SISTER: Well...I have had two advantages here. With her
around, I had both, an elder sister's care and a younger sister's love.
She has been the most caring person to me and has been worried about me
every time anything happened to me (which is a quite a lot of times) and
she has scolded me the most everytime I have been even thinking about
something bad...forget doing anything bad because she wouldn't let me. At
the same time, she also gave me a lot of chances (And again..I really
mean A LOT) to act as the one who would put her actions and thoughts on
the right track.
3. POOJA - THE HR: This is my favourite part because here I get to tell
the story of how this madam selected to choose HR for her career. She had
very well made up her mind before joining IIM Shillong about doign a
Finance major, crack stupid number problems, clear the impossible CFA
levels, work in some Hi-Fi bank and all. Well she HAD MADE UP HER MIND.
But like always, slowly the confusion poured in. And she hovered around
every damn option available to an IIM Grad starting from Fin to IT to Ops
to Marketing to Strategy and finally landing up into HR. Well I have a
special thanks to God for making her mind up into HR for several reasons.
Firstly, she is too good for it. Tat Motors is really lucky and I am
serious about it. Secondly, over the two years I have known her very well
and I am so damn sure, even after three four attempts, CFA nahin nikaal
paati ladki :P :P. Thirdly, she is not made for Fin/IT etc. And the most
important reason, studying HR and HR Club would have been totally boring
without Pooja :) :) I am so damn sure you would become a great HR.
Nothing unusual though, everybody knows it.
4. POOJA - THE STUDENT: Not much to say here. She was a topper throughout
her life before she joined IBM. Without going into details of what
actually happened in two years, the outcome was evident at IIM Shillong.
She is a pathetic student. No concentration, no interest in most of the
subjects. But still, expert at Bakar and since thats what counts when you
are studying at IIMS, undoubtedly, she performed decently :) :) And
needless to say, she had me as the teacher at every stage she needed
guidance :P :P
5. POOJA - THE FEMINIST: Talk to her regarding any biasness towards men
or even the slightest of unfairness towards the fairer sex, you are bound
to get her angry. She according to me is the true leader or "NAARI MUKTI
MORCHA" and this is one topic where I have always avoided to go against
her.
[CONTD.....]
ReplyDelete6. POOJA - THE BHULAKKAD: She is the Aamir Khan of Ghazini. And am not
joking. She comes and tells me that she is going out and after exactly 2
mins when I ask her where exactly is she going and she asks me "How do
you know I am going out" Now you might say thats normal, it happens...but
this girl argues with me after that for five mins that she hadn't told
me. And this isn't just one off case. Day doesn't go off without her
forgetting the most trivial of things every now and then.
7. POOJA - THE HOSCOMM member: She was one of the very few people in my
first year in whom I saw the passion of entering into the hostel
committee. And the zeal with which this girl has done all the work in two
years is not just commendable. I have seen her closely getting over
involved with the smallest of things and caring for everything as if it
were her own house. I just feel so much more respect for her when I see
her in that avatar. Well, the excellent work by her during the admission
of juniors made her the favourite of all parents and earned her the
coveted title of PGP'11 ki 'DIDI' :P
8. POOJA - THE BEAUTIFUL: This is something I do not need to tell. She is
one of the most good looking girls of our batch and if not her profile
pics, the endless list of her fans is definitely a testimony to it. :)
9. POOJA - THE FOODIE: I dont know how I missed it first. Well, it
deserved a much higher rank for sure for it describes her more than half
of what she is. Her life is only food. She knows cities only by food. Her
perception about whether a city is good or bad is dependent on the food
available there. She is bound to become the future brand ambassador of
KFC am sure. I still remember getting "EVERYTHING" packed for her from
KFC after winning Ashwamedha :)
10. POOJA - THE KID: This is the most dominant mode of her I must say.
This is the part where she acts totally kiddish on things, wanting things
which she knows are only available in Delhi at a particular shop, passing
a comment in full loud voice after there is complete silence or for that
matter, fighting with Deepa over petty issues :)
No matter how much I write over here, these words of mine will never be
able to express what she is and the respect, love, gratitude and
admiration I have for her. I shall definitely keep posting more and more
in time to come when I think of other things about you. But as of now, to
sum it up, "Thank you for being there, it would not have been possible to
sustain without you" :) :) Lots of love...God Bless u :) Thank you for everything :)
Pooja is one of the nicest girls I have met. very calm and composed, and full of energy all the time. She kind of defines what an HR person should be like. never shying away from soo much work in the hostel committee. she is an wonderful person as well. It was great knowing you.
ReplyDeleteKeep Rocking!!
ReplyDeleteThough we haven’t interacted much but from whatever small talks we have had, it was my pleasure to know a gem of a person like you.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best looking girls in our batch, pooja has been the only person who could take all the compliments given by Harish with a smile..
ReplyDeletePooja...I think all credit goes to her for good chicken in d mess as she loves chicken like anything and can eat chicken day in day out. Apart from her love for food she is a wonderful person except she gets mischievous very fast but she is very caring person and has helped me a lot in one thing i.e. SUPW, which i should have learnt in school days :P
ReplyDeleteShe is fun loving and no can get bored in her company..She always promises to do many things but unfortunately little slow in implementation :P.. She has done a wonderful job being the editor of usHR..keep up d good work.
It was fun teasing your B.Tech course as Distance Learning course :) It was great knowing you and being your friend. Hope you get whatever you dream of. All d best
Take care
One of the most vibrant personalities of our batch, she’s been a very good friend of mine here in Shillong. I’m glad I got to know her so well because of being in the same study group. She’s always the dedicated one in our group who’s asking everyone to do the things on time and I doubt if we’d have functioned as efficiently as a group if not for her.
ReplyDeleteShe is very jovial and always has a smile on her face, I doubt if anyone else would’ve been able to take the number of times I’ve argued with her and she still managed to laugh it off.
ReplyDeleteMiss Congeniality, proud owner of a fab wardrobe, her fashion sense is unmatched in our batch, carries off herself confidently through patches both rough and not so rough. She can be seen running to the mess workers instructing them about the food every now and then.
ReplyDeleteOne of the few HR enthusiast of our batch she has been instrumental in conceptualization and release of usHR the HR bimonthly.
ReplyDeleteShe is a great foodie and a chicken lover.
All the very best for your life ahead!
Pooja. Girl who can handle things too well-be it people complaining about mess food or any other problem. But can't handle her own life that well. :P Someone who had her preferences way too right in place-be it HR or hostel comm or guys. ;)
ReplyDeleteBig foodie.
ReplyDeleteThe multitude of talents that she has got is impressive and makes her a perfect HR material.
ReplyDeleteHave pulled her leg on numerous occasions directly or indirectly but she has always taken it in right spirit (my guess :P). I guess she is by far the biggest KFC fan of our college.
I am sure you would add more value to the field of HR and perhaps make it more relevant from being a mere “event management” unit of any firm.
Wish you all the very best for the future ahead…
P.S. – Hamesh kush rehna :)
ReplyDeleteI first met Pooja at Nirulas for our tete-e-tete at Delhi and not once did the thought cross my mind that this girl would come to mean so much to me..
Keep smiling always… Love you lots :) :)
Pooja!! You will always see her with a smile on her face; a jolly good person. Pooja is one of the most sensible and matured persons. She won’t fake things and believes in whatever she does. Pooja is a big time foodie who loves chicken a lot and someone with awesome dressing sense.
ReplyDeleteShe is a fun to hang out with; an intelligent person with HR in his blood. Though we had known each other since the registration day but dint get to interact much but would have loved to. :-)
Stay the same Pooja and always keep that smile on your face come what may.
All the best and keep rocking! :-) :-)
ReplyDeletePooja can be a very funny person and yeah as Neetisha has told her pranks can be lethal.
ReplyDeletePooja ... one of the prettiest gals in our batch ...everything is nice about her.. her smile .. her cuteness... her dresses.. the funny way she walks.. the funnier way she runs.. even the silver strands of hair here and there .. everything about pooja jus takes ur breath away .. she is tat kind of a gal .. one gal who can make everyone's heart skip a beat...
ReplyDeleteI don think i ve complimented anybody as frequently as i ve complimented Pooja :) not only is she always smiling and laughing but spreads the joy all around... she comes like a rush of fresh air and leaves all of us still wanting more oxygen …
ReplyDeleteWell, over past two years I have seen many facets of her personality.
ReplyDeletePooja has been one of those persons with whom I have interacted the most during my stay at IIM Shillong.
Pooja, one of the person who adds fun element to all our conversations with her funny expressions and remarks :P …… Her ‘tu-tu main-main’ with her roommate Deepa is surely something which u will not like to miss :P
ReplyDeleteShe will not think twice before speaking her heart… her one liners would come at that time in class when everyone used to be quite … and those one liners are powerful enough to make the whole class laugh out loud ... :)
No patience at all, at least not enough to finish a movie in one go :P
I don’t know how many times she thought of going to gym… But till now, I have not seen her going even single day!!!.... Also, I remember her statement one day before her Tata Motors interview “Ek bar bas placement ho jane de, fir toh roz gym jaya karungi!!!” … Woh ‘roz’ abhi tak toh nai aya !! :P
Very good taste in shopping … but equally bad choice in something else… :P
She is such a diverse personality that each incident can depict different trait of her personality, but really the fact remains that she is one of the best person I have met in this college….. always there for her friends, she will give you really good advices and help u out in every possible way… And yes, equally dedicated towards her work … I have seen her working diligently for usHR and hostel comm…. Hope you find success in whatever u do.. :)
( Baki toh Mayur ne itne ache se explain kar hi diya hai whatever I will write, it will appear as a subpart of that only !!!
ReplyDeleteThroughout my 2 years in Shillong, she is probably the only person whose legs I have been able to pull consistently.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ;-)
Delete"Dynamite of a girl"... yes she is. You can't get unaffected by her smile if she is around. Typical 'Dilli vaali'... Koi tension nahi... Very charming person...
ReplyDeleteBe the same... and keep rocking :)
