A bubbly girl, a sweet and caring friend, and a great study group mate! Group work without her would have been impossible! The way we used to do combined work on individually divided group tasks also :P and used to spend hours together in the midnight for making the ppts…!! Deepa is one person about whom it is difficult to tell a lot. As everyone would agree, she is the sweet, simple, bubbly, chirpy girl but that is what everyone knows. Well, the true hidden part of Deepa is still unknown to the world (including me). What has always amazed me about her is that though she acts stupid sometimes, but that happens only when she is around friends where there is no one to judge her. But put her to any task, she will show you who the boss is. And that has been proved by the level of competitions she has excelled in. One person who would go into any group discussion and get through it. I don't know what does she do so as to impress any and every GD panelist.
Another point worth mentioning about Deepa is her unending love for Harry Potter, Twilight and all kinds of good as well as stupid serials that come on TV. She never gets bored of them and is crazy about each one of them she sees. I think the only person I have seen more crazy about Harry Potter than Deepa is my 8 year old brother :P :P
Moving on, Deepa is very very very particular about her expenses and she does not like giving a penny extra than the actual value for anything. She was once cheated by a local handicraft shop into paying double the amount than it was available for in another shop and thats it. I had never seen her more furious/agitated/disappointed ever before.
I must say Deepa has been one of the brave persons who has been patient for two more years and has calmly and very easily born a lot of torture from Pooja who incidentally was her roommate in the first year. Not a single day has passed since then without these two sharing their extra love and affection both with words and hands.
Deepa, no doubt is also one of the biggest marketing enthusiasts of our batch. Her dedication was unsurpassed during her internship and she actually pestered many innocent people visiting malls with their families to answer hr questions on market research and she would not agree to fudge the data. Two months at MDI made me know her much more than I knew her in college and if I am not wrong, we spent the maximum time together during those two months because at IIM Shillong, the only things she does is eats, sleeps, studies and watches serials. She loves her room, her quilt and does not leave it for any reason whatsoever. Another thing I experienced with her during internship was her never ending confusion when shopping. I still remember going to four different malls to buy an umbrella for her to save her from the harsh Gurgaon sun.
Deepa is the favourite of many professors at college and somehow she has the knack of attracting a LITTLE older males. Be it "IF AT ALL" or "SOUTH WEST" she has been the all time favourite for all of them.
All said and done, Deepa is definitely one of my sweetest friends who is always there for you when you need her. She is very very innocent (a fact which has been misused a lot by both Deepa and Pallvi) but at the same time one of the smartest girls I have met when it comes to professional dealings and surely has a long long way to go ahead :) :)

One of the founding pillar of EcoBiz club, this girl from Faridabad has influeneced a lot of guys on this campus.
Deepa is one person who has not been affected by this MBA program. The most important thing of life (sleep) which we lose after coming for an MBA is still her priceless possession. She has the ability to have a (power) nap even during breaks of 10-15 minutes. I would also appreciate Deepa for effectively handling her room mate of whom she used to be the favorite target. She was also the one of the few candidates who was clear about pursuing a career in marketing the day she joined IIM Shillong.

I’ll start with the side of Deepa that everyone knows and talks about.. Ya ya.. she is a real sweet, bubbly and chirpy girl who has a huge fan following at IIM Shillong :) and the list includes a number of people of our age group, some younger (seniority-wise) and some really older as well! Her love for good sleep and ‘sookhe channe’ is legendary She is a proud Faridabadi who cannot bear to hear even one negative word about Faridabad, even if it is spoken by her dear roomie Pooja (Ya I know they are not roommates anymore but they just don’t want to hear that.. Both love each other sooo much :P)

Deepa is one of the most hardworking people I’ve ever met and this trait of hers became all the more visible during our internship together (Until then, I just knew her as the girl who dint use a last name) She is patient and nice to hang out with, simple and cheerful, and I owe a lot of my hindi understanding to her. Deepa is one of the prettiest faces of IIM Shillong. Some professors of IIM Shillong will vouch for that. She has a unique laugh which can distinguish her even from a distance. She has had her moments of laughing when everyone around her is normal or being normal when everyone around her is laughing. All this makes her a sweet and innocent person whom everyone knows to be good at heart.
The part which defines her best is her relationship with Pooja. You will have the rare chance to see two movies for the price of one, if you have gone to a movie with them and if they are sitting together. It is really amazing to see the love and affection which they have for each other.
She is a true marketing girl who manages to get excellent grades in finance subjects. She is relentless when it comes to pursuit of her goals. It is usually fruitless for anyone to participate in a competition if Deepa and Pallvi are participating in it. Academic rigour and pursuit of her goals have, however, not made her forget to have moments of fun.
It was a pleasure to know you these past two years. Hope that our friendship lasts till the depths of time. All the best for a great career!
The part about the parallel movie running between them in the dark environment of a theater is really intriguing :P :P Never knew a double room could bring two people so CLOSE in so many ways :)
First thing which we can notice about Deepa is her simplicity, smartness, intelligence and hardworking nature …. But it’s some of her other unique traits which I would like to highlight here :) Unique selection of food items in a restaurant, especially those which even she might not have heard of earlier!!!... And 3/4th of the times they came out to be worse than our expectation :P Lots of secret admirers (well, some not so secret :P) … Admirers range from batch mates to juniors to profs :P ….. And its fun teasing her with their names… although she try hard to avoid these topics with her typical defensive statements … But me and Pooja never spare her from this :P Her unending quest for dieting ..she makes new targets everyday, but hardly follows them … And ‘static jogging’ is the master piece :P ……. Her true love for her bed, her room and her serials :P Love playing TT and badminton … quick learner I would say… started playing TT in 4th term when she used to complain about the small size of the TT ball !!! … but now she can give good competition to anyone!! Lazy… But give her some work which she likes, she would be more than active…. Another good point worth mentioning here is that she makes sure to keep herself updated with the current happening… visit TOI website almost 50 times a day!!! As EcoBiz member, I have seen her working with full energy, even when some of the things might not be in her favor… Ready to take initiatives and pull them off successfully.. A very good friend …. her untimely and sometimes abrupt comments really prove her innocence (though, they can make u laugh sometimes :P) …. No doubt over her intelligence… her ideas gives a new direction to your thinking process… I was really lucky to have her as a partner in competitions!!! All in all, a great person… a true friend… marketing enthusiast... You really have the potential to achieve great heights in future .. Wishing u luck. :)
PL,KKR, Balcony Mates, etc, etc.....these words literally mean nothing.. But this how Deepa converses with everyone. She will use all sorts of self-made abbreviations assuming that everyone would know them.. Though she has excellent presentation and communication skills, she will tend to confuse the other person until that person forgets the entire topic of conversation.. And will not let you complete a conversation without putting her famous ‘kya?’ in it till the time you actually answer that.. Deepa is an extremely passionate person.. her passions include sleeping, watching all sorts of pathetic serials (from Left right Left to Jhansi ki Rani), eating all possible things having lemon in them,, even if it’s lemon squeezed in milk.. If she plans to read a book (one of those few ppl who prefers e-books over hard bound ones), she will ensure that she completes in one go even if there is an exam the next day.. there were times when I would suddenly wake up from my sleep in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and see her laughing out loud at some of the stupid serials that she is always watching.. She indeed has a very magnetic personality, and as rightly pointed in the one of the above testimonials, she acts like a magnet that tends to attract older people ,but that didn’t prevent her from having a long long fan list here.. She is one of those girls who must have got an opportunity to do salsa the most no. of times during the bday celebrations in the last 2 years.. There hasn’t been a day when I haven’t tried to torture her (that too, brutally).. She has always been on the receiving end whenever I wanted to vent out my frustrations, which has happened so often :P.. She has been like that perfect punching bag for me who will listen to all what you want to say even if it’s totally nonsense and irrelevant to you without complaining a bit, to the extent that I have even eaten her chocolates, broken her things and all she would do is just lock her door from inside and start shouting even if you are standing outside and laughing like anything.. Had it not been for her in IIM Shillong, my life would have become so boring here. Courtesy her my days have become so lively and interesting.. She has always been an extremely hardworking person throughout her life and unlike most of us, IIM Shillong was no exception for her.. She continued to work with utmost sincerity even when most of us around her were losing track.. However she is, she was the BEST roommate that I could have got.. I don’t know how did she gather so much of tolerance, patience, calmness to bear a person like me.. And I am sure that she still has a lot more of patience left cos I am not going to spare her in Bombay now.. ;):)..I am not going to ask you to miss me or stay in touch, cos you know, you are even coming with me in my dowry :P :P

ReplyDeleteDeepa is an extremely passionate person.. her passions include sleeping, watching all sorts of pathetic serials (from Left right Left to Jhansi ki Rani), eating all possible things having lemon in them,, even if it’s lemon squeezed in milk.. If she plans to read a book (one of those few ppl who prefers e-books over hard bound ones), she will ensure that she completes in one go even if there is an exam the next day.. there were times when I would suddenly wake up from my sleep in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and see her laughing out loud at some of the stupid serials that she is always watching..
She indeed has a very magnetic personality, and as rightly pointed in the one of the above testimonials, she acts like a magnet that tends to attract older people ,but that didn’t prevent her from having a long long fan list here.. She is one of those girls who must have got an opportunity to do salsa the most no. of times during the bday celebrations in the last 2 years..
There hasn’t been a day when I haven’t tried to torture her (that too, brutally).. She has always been on the receiving end whenever I wanted to vent out my frustrations, which has happened so often :P.. She has been like that perfect punching bag for me who will listen to all what you want to say even if it’s totally nonsense and irrelevant to you without complaining a bit, to the extent that I have even eaten her chocolates, broken her things and all she would do is just lock her door from inside and start shouting even if you are standing outside and laughing like anything..
Had it not been for her in IIM Shillong, my life would have become so boring here. Courtesy her my days have become so lively and interesting.. She has always been an extremely hardworking person throughout her life and unlike most of us, IIM Shillong was no exception for her.. She continued to work with utmost sincerity even when most of us around her were losing track..
However she is, she was the BEST roommate that I could have got.. I don’t know how did she gather so much of tolerance, patience, calmness to bear a person like me.. And I am sure that she still has a lot more of patience left cos I am not going to spare her in Bombay now.. ;):)..I am not going to ask you to miss me or stay in touch, cos you know, you are even coming with me in my dowry :P :P
