The first lesson of this MBA course, ‘the punctuality’ was taught to some 20 odd fellow mates by this girl, whom I had given a now defunct nickname- the Junior _____, that seemed to be proved right when she got inducted in the PR cell. But, she was & is destined to achieve more & more, just because more than 90% of her character can be covered by the two words - Discipline & sincerity. All the best for your bright future :)
Sria- Commander/Maa as we call her would show how a Perfect MBA should be. Best in Acads, Best in Competitions, Best in Work, Best in Managing and even Best in Kopda, I feel this girl is one such gem who through her dedication and sincerity would achieve every impossible job. I have immense respect for Sria due to her bold nature where she would handle every f**ked-up situation and StudC looking good due to her pro-activeness. Sria can be regarded as a complete person one aspires to be. Its hard to find flaws in Sria, but I have never liked her over-pro-active nature and would always try to tell her to be a bit lazy - but to no avail. She is a avid reader and reads whatever comes to her. She is really passionate about Marketing and I can see one of the best Marketers from our batch in her. She is also a big foodie who loves every other junk food and would love to hangout for a movie with water in her hand.
I am really fortunate to have Sria as a very good friend of mine. She has been an epitome of sincerity and discipline for me - alas I haven't learned much. She is a constant inspiration to many people in our batch and she is one of the most respected lady of our batch. Sria, the time management freak. Nothing gets you hyper as (God knows how) you are always prepared before hand to face every challenge. When everyone in the batch were experiencing sleepless nights due to project submissions, due to your sincerity and not so much of a procrastinating nature, your group used to be either sleeping or enjoying(we may have been slightly envious of that :)) But there is a lot more to you, you are a wonderful person, a great friend, a shy girl(someone who truly hates compliments even though you have such a pretty smile) and a person who knows exactly what she wants in life. Your determination is your biggest asset. There is no doubt that you will achieve great things in life(may it be personally and professionally). Good luck and keep in touch!!
Sria's undoubtedly the most organized person on campus! It isn't without reason she's called Commander in Chief. Meticulous and exacting, she manages to get work done way way in advance. Section 2 could always rely on Group O for projects a week before submission. So yes, it isn't hard to rave on and on about her efficiency, intelligence, leadership skills etc etc. But what's probably most remarkable about her is what she stands for beyond the manager/leader she is - her stand on integrity, the fact that she's so genuine, the fact that she'll stand up for what's right, and most importantly, that you can count on her for that. Yes, the 'leader with the heart' business that's so cliched, it's really so true for her. Which is why i'm so glad she was a part of StudC.
It's pointless wishing you luck, Sria. It would be a wonder if you didn't go places with those kind of qualities! So here's to a wonderful career ahead, and to a lifetime of happiness!

When I met Sria for the first time (on the very first day at campus), I noticed that she speaks Bengali with an awesome accent - the pitfalls of being a "probashi bangali" I guess :) And yes, it was a breath of fresh air to notice a girl with Mech background (we hardly got to see such rare combinations during our undergrad days).
Sria is arguably the most focused person on campus - I haven't met anyone who's so committed to his/her work and possesses such sincerity and dedication. In fact, the kind of standards she set during these two years would be a difficult task for anyone to equal, leave alone surpass. She's also a friendly and humble person, and a nice friend to have.
It would be a good idea for everyone to keep in touch with her, because I've a feeling she's going to be the first in our batch to reach that elusive and much sought-after CXO position - which, by the way, she most certainly deserves :)
A go getter, completely indefatigable and always full of dynamism.. Sria Majumdar is one mad girl who is sincere, dedicated, strict, voracious reader, blah blah.. I think she has only good qualities. One day I asked her for some notes and I forgot to bring it from her. She came to my room and handed over the notes. She has always been kind to me or for that matter to anyone she knows. couple of my wing mates ( Abhisek, Rishabh, Sandeep) respect her a lot, believe me these guys don't even respect the faculties that much..:P Fortunately I happened to be in one of her groups in the second term and she starts doing assignments at least 2/3 weeks before. "Hard working and fun loving" which is a rare combination makes Sria Unique in IIM Shillong. Very dedicated girl who actually leads the team in any work assigned. Sria - the teacher, the akka to many of her thambis, is an amazing workaholic who maintains a time-table even for her daily routine. I am always amazed at the discipline and sincerity that she displays every-time she does something. Our friendship has been quite strange to say the least. We worked one whole year for the Marketing Club and Markathon and apart from that, ours was a ‘Hi, hello’ kind of a friendship. Somewhere during our internship and later on our trip to IIM B, we got to know each other better and I discovered a lot more sides to her personality which I didn’t know existed. Everyone has talked about how sincere, disciplined, blah blah blah she can be. The other side to her is how she shows a similar kind of dedication towards her movie watching and tv series activities. Contrary to popular opinion, she is extremely lazy and spends a lot of time motivating herself to get things done. She is quite stubborn as well and will always do what she wants. She has an amazing ability of speaking; she’s logical, thoughtful and always politically correct, always! She is also a published author and I have a great sense of admiration for her because of this, among many other things. Her interview skills are also stuff of folklore, and she’s yet to fail an interview she’s appeared for. She’s helped me with every edition of Markathon by painstakingly proofreading all my editorials and articles for the magazine. The magazine wouldn’t be half as good without her contribution. She loves getting interviews with the Who’s Who of the Marketing world but is extremely scared of talking to them on the phone. Her love for chocolates is unmatched and she can finish off whole boxes in a span of few hours. She takes a lot of delight in the smaller things in life; she can burst into peals of sonorous laughter at the smallest of jokes. She also believes in going out of her way in helping her friends and I don’t think she’s ever said no to anything I’ve asked her help for. I could go on and on, but I guess this has to do for now. We’ll be friends for a very long time to come. And you’re going to be a CEO before anyone even realises. Cheers!
My dear sister I have been procrastinating it because somehow as I write this I feel that I will be far away from you in some days’ time. The best part about her is that if she loves you she is there for a lifetime. Extremely committed and confident in whatever she does (no matter how interesting or drag it is) she has been a symbol of perfection and ‘nothing can go wrong’ types. Immensely caring as she is I still remember her scolding me and making sure it take care of my health. She is the soul of the student council of our batch which again speaks miles about how she is loved and respected across batches. Markathon is something which is soooo close to her and trust me she is very senti about it !!
But then again she becomes a very madly dangerous “Creature” when she gets flipped…one instance is the IIMB wala event at 3:30 am working on the Finance PPT. If I were to hate her it would be her disinclination to share chocolates (kabhi bhi nai rakhti mere liye) even though I happen to them for her. She is one person who for me symbolizes all that a true woman could stand for loving, graceful, charismatic and a big broad smile that could brighten up anybody’s day. I still remember her counseling sessions and trust me this girl has a lot of patience to listen to my crappy questions (Still remember the day tera main aur sunil ne kataan kiya tha :) )

Hail CIC!! Hail Osum Group! Sria Majumdar. This girl can actually succeed in any field she wants to. She is that talented and hard working. One of the top rankers of the batch, she takes her academics very seriously. Add the various council and club work that she does and you sometimes think that she might be working more than 24 hours a day! A person who does everything by the timetable, overhearing the “proceedings” of her study group’s first meeting was super fun say the least. On the lighter side, this is one bong who has problems in understanding her own BONG culture. She loves non veg and was fascinated by mutton kassa in Lamee for some time! Remembering a certain instance when she ordered more non veg just because we were eating on a Monday so that she could tease me shows her small attempts to get back at me for pulling her leg these 2 years!!! I can also fondly recall our CB survey in the village. She was done with her part of the assignment before we all even started :D. Anyways, best of luck to you for your future endeavours. Cheers!

My first impression of Sria was of a cute meek girl .. I was stunned when she interviewed a few of our classmates during our footsteps .. I told Paul that she was jus like Jayalalitha ! and I also told Sria that .. that was my first compliment to her and I ve been complimenting her ever since !! I remember consoling you after the hoax interview and there struck a bond .. after months of hearing tales about Sria’s sincerity , discipline, hard work , Student council happened..
I witnessed everything tat I had heard about this gal .. but then there was more.. I saw situations when Sria was scared.. I saw situations when she jus wanted to run away and scream .. I saw situations when she wanted to give up .. but Sria never trembled .. Sria never ran away .. Sria never gave up ! That’s the difference …
I don’t think I can find any gal who has such a strong heart … she refuses to get beaten up .. when all the doors are closed tight and she is beaten black and blue u can still see Sria stand up and knock ! Sria – the madam ji and commander in chief of our batch. She is a diligent girl who plans everything that needs to be done. She is one of the hardest workers I have ever come across. She is meticulously organized and is known for the way she divides work for every group assignment and sends her part of the work along with it. :) There is an air of authority when she communicates. During the last month here, when there was no work to be done, one could see the fun loving side of her, making use of her time to enjoy to the fullest. She focuses on her strengths and knows her limitations (sometimes, perceived limitations, read finance :P). Her networking skills are amazing and can have a confident conversation with anyone irrespective of their stature. One day I asked her for some notes and I forgot to bring it from her. She came to my room and handed over the notes. She has always been kind to me or for that matter to anyone she knows. couple of my wing mates ( Abhisek, Rishabh, Sandeep) respect her a lot, believe me these guys don't even respect the faculties that much..:P Fortunately I happened to be in one of her groups in the second term and she starts doing assignments at least 2/3 weeks before. She is simply superb and please life main thoda peace marlo kabhi kabhi..

"Hard working and fun loving" which is a rare combination makes Sria Unique in IIM Shillong. Very dedicated girl who actually leads the team in any work assigned. She completes the work with passion and dedication,..either club work or assignments what ever.I have lots of respect for her for the guts she has to take decisions and stand on them.Looking on the other side she is very emotional person.A great food lover and need less to mention a great movie lover who keeps searching for nice quotes to keep as status messages :p

Sria :) CRM groupie, fellow Junkyard Dawg and prettiest girl of the batch… I really enjoyed our “date” at Shillong Café. Sad that between that busy schedule of yours and my sleeping hours we couldn’t take it any further than that ;) So what can I say about a girl whom practically everyone has called a systematic hard-worker who is bordering on OCD? Well, from the talks we’ve had, I know as you as an extremely sweet and sensitive person, a romantic child at heart. Do keep that part of you alive always.

ReplyDeleteSria - the teacher, the akka to many of her thambis, is an amazing workaholic who maintains a time-table even for her daily routine. I am always amazed at the discipline and sincerity that she displays every-time she does something. She's a very emotional person when it comes to her close friends - have seen it thanks to Harish and Paul :P
She always loves to win - that is why her team always emerged victorious in Kopda :) An amazing speaker - if i had to name one person who has to speak on my behalf to save my life, it has got to be Sria :) Amazing it is - she has never failed to crack an interview. That's like god level _/\_

Our friendship has been quite strange to say the least. We worked one whole year for the Marketing Club and Markathon and apart from that, ours was a ‘Hi, hello’ kind of a friendship.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere during our internship and later on our trip to IIM B, we got to know each other better and I discovered a lot more sides to her personality which I didn’t know existed. Everyone has talked about how sincere, disciplined, blah blah blah she can be. The other side to her is how she shows a similar kind of dedication towards her movie watching and tv series activities. Contrary to popular opinion, she is extremely lazy and spends a lot of time motivating herself to get things done. She is quite stubborn as well and will always do what she wants.
She has an amazing ability of speaking; she’s logical, thoughtful and always politically correct, always! She is also a published author and I have a great sense of admiration for her because of this, among many other things. Her interview skills are also stuff of folklore, and she’s yet to fail an interview she’s appeared for.
She’s helped me with every edition of Markathon by painstakingly proofreading all my editorials and articles for the magazine. The magazine wouldn’t be half as good without her contribution. She loves getting interviews with the Who’s Who of the Marketing world but is extremely scared of talking to them on the phone.
Her love for chocolates is unmatched and she can finish off whole boxes in a span of few hours. She takes a lot of delight in the smaller things in life; she can burst into peals of sonorous laughter at the smallest of jokes. She also believes in going out of her way in helping her friends and I don’t think she’s ever said no to anything I’ve asked her help for.
I could go on and on, but I guess this has to do for now.
We’ll be friends for a very long time to come.
And you’re going to be a CEO before anyone even realises.

My dear sister I have been procrastinating it because somehow as I write this I feel that I will be far away from you in some days’ time. The best part about her is that if she loves you she is there for a lifetime. Extremely committed and confident in whatever she does (no matter how interesting or drag it is) she has been a symbol of perfection and ‘nothing can go wrong’ types. Immensely caring as she is I still remember her scolding me and making sure it take care of my health. She is the soul of the student council of our batch which again speaks miles about how she is loved and respected across batches. Markathon is something which is soooo close to her and trust me she is very senti about it !!
ReplyDeleteBut then again she becomes a very madly dangerous “Creature” when she gets flipped…one instance is the IIMB wala event at 3:30 am working on the Finance PPT. If I were to hate her it would be her disinclination to share chocolates (kabhi bhi nai rakhti mere liye) even though I happen to them for her. She is one person who for me symbolizes all that a true woman could stand for loving, graceful, charismatic and a big broad smile that could brighten up anybody’s day. I still remember her counseling sessions and trust me this girl has a lot of patience to listen to my crappy questions (Still remember the day tera main aur sunil ne kataan kiya tha :) )

Hail CIC!! Hail Osum Group! Sria Majumdar. This girl can actually succeed in any field she wants to. She is that talented and hard working. One of the top rankers of the batch, she takes her academics very seriously. Add the various council and club work that she does and you sometimes think that she might be working more than 24 hours a day! A person who does everything by the timetable, overhearing the “proceedings” of her study group’s first meeting was super fun say the least.
ReplyDeleteOn the lighter side, this is one bong who has problems in understanding her own BONG culture. She loves non veg and was fascinated by mutton kassa in Lamee for some time! Remembering a certain instance when she ordered more non veg just because we were eating on a Monday so that she could tease me shows her small attempts to get back at me for pulling her leg these 2 years!!! I can also fondly recall our CB survey in the village. She was done with her part of the assignment before we all even started :D. Anyways, best of luck to you for your future endeavours. Cheers!

ReplyDeleteMy first impression of Sria was of a cute meek girl .. I was stunned when she interviewed a few of our classmates during our footsteps .. I told Paul that she was jus like Jayalalitha ! and I also told Sria that .. that was my first compliment to her and I ve been complimenting her ever since !! I remember consoling you after the hoax interview and there struck a bond .. after months of hearing tales about Sria’s sincerity , discipline, hard work , Student council happened..
I witnessed everything tat I had heard about this gal .. but then there was more.. I saw situations when Sria was scared.. I saw situations when she jus wanted to run away and scream .. I saw situations when she wanted to give up .. but Sria never trembled .. Sria never ran away .. Sria never gave up ! That’s the difference …
I don’t think I can find any gal who has such a strong heart … she refuses to get beaten up .. when all the doors are closed tight and she is beaten black and blue u can still see Sria stand up and knock ! She is a fighter and she will always remain one … I can never ever explain the level of dedication, sincerity, sacrifice and righteousness shown by her to the Student council and to the batch…
She has really impacted me .. the way I think .. the way I decide.. now everything would have a touch Sria-ness.. Sria has helped me in so many situations .. am forever indebted to her… She has always made me wonder how a gal so young can be so mature.. she is extremely logical and her thought process is too sound… and I could do nothing but jus admire the way she showed so much magnanimity in a really bad bad situation… I cannot dream of anyone who would do that !
She also has a wonderful soft side that not many kno.. people wud jus start adoring her more if they get to know tat as well… she has her own cute desires and small small adorable traits which she hides from the outside world…. She is all that a gal can dream to be .. an amazing leader.. a bold decision maker … extremely disciplined , honest .. caring, loving, has a beautiful smile and is super pretty …
I will never forget those long chats … heated arguments.. cribbing .. hours of pondering what to do what not to do .. all those days when we felt helpless … it was really a pleasure Sria .. Working with u .. talking with you .. laughing with u and being with u … I am what I am because of u .. I cannot thank u enuf for those many moments when u were there for me.. Sria – the madam ji and commander in chief of our batch. She is a diligent girl who plans everything that needs to be done. She is one of the hardest workers I have ever come across. She is meticulously organized and is known for the way she divides work for every group assignment and sends her part of the work along with it. :) There is an air of authority when she communicates. During the last month here, when there was no work to be done, one could see the fun loving side of her, making use of her time to enjoy to the fullest. She focuses on her strengths and knows her limitations (sometimes, perceived limitations, read finance :P). Her networking skills are amazing and can have a confident conversation with anyone irrespective of their stature.
