Salillllllllll...a very humble and down-to-earth person..He has been a dear n sweet friend of mine for last 2 years..a best Group-mate one can ask for.. He is very caring and helpful to anyone and everyone in the batch... He is an extra cool person and except during playing cricket I have not seen him getting angry on anything. This man has a golden heart - a rare man whom everyone in the batch loves with all the pureness in their hearts. Salil Bhai is the epitome of calmness. Anger is not a word in his dictionary. If you want some help, even before an end-term at 4am in the night, Salil Bhai is the man to approach. Salil Bhai is soft spoken as well as pretty assertive when opinions are pitched. Salil Bhai is a very sincere and hardworking guy. Leave him with a responsibility and you can be rest assured that the best work is there for the taking. I had the opportunity to work with him in only one elective, and I came to know how great a team player he is.

Salil Bhaiiiiiiiiiii…………. Is “THE MAN”. First of all I was really lucky to be one of his close friends as we were wing mates. He is a guy who will leave his own work and come forward to help you out. I have always been a big fan of this guy because of his patience in dealing with complex issues and he has a very cool attitude towards almost everything. He can listen to you for hours before he starts speaking. I have hardly found him using harsh language or making anybody sad. Any issue regarding mess food and our first point of contact has always been Salil Bhai. I think i should begin with SALLLIIIIILLLLLL (although, thanks to the batch i dont know how to say that aloud anymore). Your good qualities way over exceed your bad/annoying ones. You are one person who is respected and loved by all(Rightly so too!!)Definitely, one of the most genuine and caring guys of the batch. You do have an immense amount of patience, kindness and passion to do things right. You were born without a mean bone in your body.
I dont think i could have survived these two years of MBA without you(I would have been chucked out in the first year itself!!!). Apart from all the times that you spent hours teaching me various subjects(too many to list down), you have been a great friend. Someone, whom i can confide in, someone i know wouldnt take anything i say in the wrong way, someone who gives opinions objectively and i was always sure that those opinions would never be biased or prejudiced. To sum it up in a few words, you are an amazing guy.
I am really sorry for all the teasing's that you had to listen to in the last 2 years(and i dont think it will ever stop too). Despite your breakup with Paras after the internship, I still (and i'm sure a bunch of people do) find it hard to pronounce 'Salllllilll' without all those extra Ls. The love with which Paras used to call out to you from outside old boys hostel, and the love for her in your eyes, was and still is remarkable! True love, I say. :D And the swayamvaar last year on Paras' birthday was nothing short of legendary. I'll remember it for a lifetime! But yes, I'll also remember you for the many times you've gone out of your way to help, to make time for people even as you struggle with a crazy schedule of your own things to do. You really really have a heart of gold!

Salil bhai, a person whom u will always greet when he passes by. One who has handled lot of grievances regarding to mess but is also the one who will be behind the work but will never show up that he worked so hard on it. A dedicated person and passionate about his work. It was great to have u around in Section 2
The only question which comes to mind is how can someone be like him. I respect him a lot. I will never forget all those incidents where he has gone out of his way to help me. I know god can never do anything wrong with you because u r His dearest. His 'depends' attitude will help him always to be politically correct:P He is very intelligent and hard worker too.
There are two Salil Chowdhury's I respect a lot. One was the brilliant music composer who gave us numerous gems both in Bengali & Hindi, and the other is this reserved & ever-so-hepful guy belonging to our batch (though the latter spells his surname differently). Indeed, if there's one person in our batch with whom the word "RESPECT" can be associated, it would have it be this marvelous fellow.
The kind of patience, sense of responsibility & strength of character Salil has needs to be seen to be believed. He exudes quiet dignity - irrespective of whether he's indulging in some friendly banter or is in his "Hostel Comm" avatar. Sholil, as I prefer calling him, is a guy anyone would be really glad & proud to have as a friend - which I most certainly am.
Respect _/\_ One person who is the backbone of all hostel related issues, be it mess food or any other trivial problem of your hostel. A dedicated person in whatever he picks up..suscon/golf cup..anything! His immensely mature attitude is something which is very hard to find elsewhere. The logical way of replying is one of his best qualities!

Respect is the only word which comes to mind when I think of Salil.. It’s sometimes difficult to comprehend that how can someone be so calm, so honest, so simple and the list can go on and on.. There hasn’t been a single situation when I have seen him lose his temper.. There would be instances when things would just go out of control and before you even bring them to his notice, things would be sorted.. Hats off to him!! I would consider myself lucky enough to be in the same committee as him where I got a chance to work with him,,learn from him..And here I get an extension for the same :)

So sorry to disappoint you Salil… but I can never forget the reason you gave me for the mess food being in its current state – so that one will never again complain about Mom’s food in their life just remembering the state of the mess food they used to have :P And I promise… I will try my best to never complain :) You will surely have a successful career!! Salil bhai exemplies the characteristics of a perfect gentleman. I have never seen him getting irritated though he is the one who received maximum number of complains (reg. food, laundry, hostel etc..). He has been a great source of inspiration and motivation for a lot of persons including me. Was in his project group for one of the courses and I was quite impressed by his sincerity, dedication and focused approach.
There is no one who can match his patience and helpful nature. Unselfish people like him are one in a million and I’m glad to have known him. Hostel committee wouldn’t have been the same without Salil bhai in there. He’s a tireless worker who never talks about how much he’s worked, never cribs or complains. I keep wondering how is that even possible. Loved and respected by all, you’re sure to make great leaps in your career. Cheers!

For Salil bhai, one very obvious fact is that even the frigid cold at the remote North Pole would feel shy to match his coolness.In the span of the 2 years he has grown as epitome of Calmness. I find myself really lucky that I could get a chance to work alongside with this wonderful person. He has a great eye for the smallest of the details and it is almost impossible for any mistakes to creep in any plan that he approves of . I have a learnt from this wonderful person, surely he is my Guru. The best learning came from the way he deals with people, so nicely he could deal with everyone be it people from Administration ( really stubborn) , mess workers ( barely literate) or be it Corporates ( so high-headed); Salil can make anyone his fan and he can do it so effort-lessly. Amazing persona !! Because of his dedication and committment, I look upon him as someone whom I would like to be as. Definitely, these are the major ingredients behind his success at everything he undertakes. It would be a cliche to mention that Salil is a Gentleman but still because of his gentle manners, its impossible to separate these two words. Salil bhai. It is very rare to meet a man who truly personifies the saying “To have, but to desire and to be satisfied by a simple thing are the qualities of a great man”. A man with dreams which has led him to IIM Shillong but is always contented with what he gets. This quality of his is something I admire the most and want to emulate in life. His patience in dealing with difficult people is another thing you can just not find in many people. The way he conducts the work in Hostel Committee (a committee which is rarely thanked and has to deal with all LAHE LAHE processes of IIM Shillong) and room allocation that he did during the second year is a standing testament to his level of tolerance towards people. An active participator in all classes, his views always reflect the experience he carries with himself and his win at IIM A PGPX event (not a child’s play) is a proof to how much you can leverage on each of your experiences in life. Salil bhai is a perfect gentleman - everyone's friend :) He is very calm and composed - shows maturity well beyond even his age :D Have rarely seen him lose his cool (just once in Kurukshetra i saw him shouting :P) A very responsible person and he always provides you with quality work - be it for Group M or for Hostel Comm :)

For Salil bhai, one very obvious fact is that even the frigid cold at the remote North Pole would feel shy to match his coolness.In the span of the 2 years he has grown as epitome of Calmness. I find myself really lucky that I could get a chance to work alongside with this wonderful person. He has a great eye for the smallest of the details and it is almost impossible for any mistakes to creep in any plan that he approves of . I have a learnt from this wonderful person, surely he is my Guru. The best learning came from the way he deals with people, so nicely he could deal with everyone be it people from Administration ( really stubborn) , mess workers ( barely literate) or be it Corporates ( so high-headed); Salil can make anyone his fan and he can do it so effort-lessly. Amazing persona !!
ReplyDeleteBecause of his dedication and committment, I look upon him as someone whom I would like to be as. Definitely, these are the major ingredients behind his success at everything he undertakes. It would be a cliche to mention that Salil is a Gentleman but still because of his gentle manners, its impossible to separate these two words. Salil Bhai, its has been a pleasure to meet such a nice person as you and may be words cannot capture the gratitude that I wish to offer you.

Salil bhai. It is very rare to meet a man who truly personifies the saying “To have, but to desire and to be satisfied by a simple thing are the qualities of a great man”. A man with dreams which has led him to IIM Shillong but is always contented with what he gets. This quality of his is something I admire the most and want to emulate in life. His patience in dealing with difficult people is another thing you can just not find in many people. The way he conducts the work in Hostel Committee (a committee which is rarely thanked and has to deal with all LAHE LAHE processes of IIM Shillong) and room allocation that he did during the second year is a standing testament to his level of tolerance towards people.
ReplyDeleteAn active participator in all classes, his views always reflect the experience he carries with himself and his win at IIM A PGPX event (not a child’s play) is a proof to how much you can leverage on each of your experiences in life. Salil Bhai – Respect. He is so mature and dignified that one can feel that in the very first meeting. He is one of the most diligent workers, who takes all his work seriously. A go to person for all the mess issues, he takes care of them as if it is what he is destined for, without a frown.
